Role Purpose:
As a System & Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing and developing end-to-end database schema and systems architecture.
A typical day in the Role:
- Design and develop end-to-end database schema and systems architecture to meet business needs
- Implement and maintain database systems ensuring high availability and performance
- Monitor and optimize database utilization & operation costs, and provision for future ready
- Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and mandates
- Collaborate with Group/ASWI IT teams for data and application integrations
- Provide technical guidance and support to database administrators and application developers
- Develop and maintain documentation for database systems and housekeeping procedures

- Hands-on experience with database design, implementation, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of DBMS (Database Management Systems) such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc. and mainstream Data Warehouse/Data Lake solutions
- Familiarity with data security and compliance standards
- Good understanding of Oracle ERP, Microsoft D365, or mainstream ERP solution
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills

- Design and implement a Disaster Recovery Solution and a Near Zero Downtime maintenance architecture to minimize business interruptions.
- Lead the design and execution of enterprise data architecture strategy across a complex ecosystem.

- Create reusable, scheme-oriented data models that promote consistency, interoperability, and self-service across business units.

- Preferred to come from a Large-Scale Corporate, MNC, or FSI background with intensive hands-on DBA Architecture Design, Implementation & Delivery experience for Enterprise-level platform.
- Proficient with monitoring and logging tools such as Oracle OEM, AppDynamics, Grafana, and SiteScope.
- Familiar with Imperva database fire wall tool and CSI Database Security standard
- Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact, and resolution options.

- Prepare the Metrics used for the monitoring and escalation of Data Issues to Country Governance Forums.
- Lead Short to Medium-Term Projects on Regulatory Change Gap Assessment and Implementation, developing detailed project plans, maintaining active status tracking, and producing comprehensive project reports and communications.

Data Management & Governance, organised under GSTAR, is the implementation of enabling infrastructures, policies, practices and procedures that allow the organisation to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of data.
Responsibilities
- Lead to develop standards, controls, procedures and accountability frameworks for data governance implementation across the organizationLead to define data strategy to establish and ensure adherence to the organization’s data governance framework for data policies, standards, governance metrics, processes and data architecture
- Track emerging data regulations and trends to maintain a compliant and contemporary data governance program
- Oversee processes for improving data quality, cataloging, and metadata management. Implement data quality rules, checks, and issue resolution workflows
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years working experience in data governance / data management / risk management related work
- Experience in establishing and monitoring of data governance framework
- Experience in AI governance is highly desirable
- Sound knowledge of HK regulatory requirements related to data governance is highly desirable
- Previous experience to develop and execute data strategy, governance policies and data management is a plus
- Strong leadership, problem-solving and project management skills
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and presentation abilities
- Confident working in cross-functional, collaborative environments
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
