Job Description
Contract: Permanent/2-Year Contract
We are looking for high caliber professional to join our Cable O&M Section under Circuits Branch of Transmission Department. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the appointee will be responsible for the following duties:
- Supervise operation & maintenance, repair and improvement projects of various transmission assets up to 400kV
- Carry out fault / defect investigation, diagnosis, analysis and repairs as well as prepare related detailed reports
- Assist in preparing feasibility study, budget, design and engineering of transmission improvement / renovation projects in accordance with statutory, safety, technical, cost, quality, and customer requirements
- Assist in application and monitoring of statutory permits and liaising with external parties
- Assist in planning, monitoring and controlling project activities and implementing control procedures and practices in accordance with the Company's management systems of health, safety, security, environment and quality (HSSEQ)
- Assist in management of contractor activities, negotiation and attending site meetings with various stakeholders for different infrastructure and external projects
- Ensure proper record update in various management systems
- Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs as and when required
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least 3 years' relevant experience in project management
- Familiarity with CLP Power Safety Rules, engineering standards and codes of practice is preferable
- Good safety awareness and mindset
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadline
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in English and Chinese; fluency in Putonghua would be an advantage
- Customer-oriented, self-motivated, and a team player
- Being Authorised Person (AP) / Senior Authorised Person (SAP) would be an advantage
- A valid Driving License class 1/1a, 2/2a would be an advantage

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Financial Operations, the appointee will be responsible for the following key functions of the Finance & Business Support Department, Power Systems Business Group:
- Plan and coordinate the operating budget & forecast compilation and sensitivity analysis of PSBG opex expenditures to meet management directions
- Coordinate the preparation of financial plan and auditing review and ensure a high level of accuracy and timeliness; provide adequate and timely responses to queries raised by the regulator
- Conduct analysis of opex from different perspectives to facilitate optimization of expenditures and improve cost efficiencies in PSBG
- Support risk management function focusing on commercial and strategic risks in order to facilitate resource optimisation
- Implement and maintain effective reviewing and control procedures and ensure the processes are operated smoothly as prescribed
- Develop, review and maintain financial models to perform financial analysis of operating budget for planning and forecast purposes
- Perform variance analysis on operating expenditure to drive improvements in performance in areas of upfront planning and progress monitoring
- Explore new tools or processes to streamline business processes and improve effectiveness and efficiencies
- Manage, develop and motivate a team of accounting staff to discharge responsibilities effectively and efficiently meeting the BG's objectives and the requirements of a dynamic business environment
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Accounting / Finance or relevant discipline
- Possession of professional qualification of a recognised accountancy body
- A minimum of 8 years relevant working experience
- Strong analytical mind and problem-solving skills with good business acumen
- Proven interpersonal skills and capability to communicate effectively at all levels in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Creative, independent, self-motivated and a strong sense of responsibility
- Mindful and possess good safety knowledge and awareness
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiar with Oracle would be an added advantage
Candidate who has shown good potential for further development but with less qualification and/or experience will be considered for a lower position.
