We are looking for an energetic and innovative engineering professional to join our Contracting Business Department. The appointee will be assigned to work in the Hong Kong International Airport in Chek Lap Kok and responsible for the following major duties:

• Responsible for effective management of maintenance contracts, alterations and additions works or construction projects in Electrical or Building Service at airport
• Prepare specifications for tendering, evaluating and selecting service contractors that meet technical requirements and engineering standards to achieve construction and operational targets
• Prepare the submission documents under the contract requirements
• Coordinate with clients or related parties to plan, schedule and set up proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company's requirements and Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards
• Supervise subordinates/subcontractors' work performances
• Other ad-hoc duties and shift duty as assigned

Requirements:

• A recognized university degree in Electrical, Building Services, Electronic Engineering or relevant engineering disciplines plus a minimum of 3 years' relevant working experience
• Familiar with design, operation, maintenance, installation, testing, commissioning and management of electrical system/PLC and SCADA system in utility facilities or new construction building
• Possession of Construction Worker Registration Card and Construction Industry Safety Card
• Customer-oriented, self-motivated, a good team player, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Candidate with Registered Electrical Worker is preferable
• Candidate with a valid driving license (1 or 2) is preferable
• Candidates with less experience will be considered for lower position

What this job involves:
The Electrical Engineering Design Manager is responsible for leading the electrical design function across assigned projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with codes and standards, and alignment with client and business objectives. This role oversees consultants and contractors, manages design deliverables from concept through construction, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including architecture, mechanical, sustainability, and project management.

The ideal candidate will bring strong technical leadership, proven project delivery experience while driving innovation and efficiency in electrical systems design.

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Liaise with client groups to ascertain project requirements and formulate proposals for delivery of the same.
• Advise on the proper implementation of client's design process through the feasibility, scheme design, detailed design, construction and handover phases of designated projects.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BIM models for technical accuracy and completeness.
• To assist in planning appropriate levels of design management resources.
• Advise on the project brief and manage the approval process in conjunction with the Project Manager through the client approval process.
• Notify and liaise with the APAC Head of Projects & Head of Engineering and any other Senior Management and interface with regarding any escalated project issues.
• Notify the project team where design issues may impact upon overall cost management of a project.
• Manage the appropriate documentation and sign offs take place at strategic times during the project. Delivering full auditing capability of all aspects of the design management process.
• Provide consultative support as required to other business groups within client's organization on any engineering requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and engineering standards, including adoption of digital engineering and automation technologies.
• Review and technically analyse relevant new product innovations.
• Regular liaison with the global engineering team advising on a series of global initiatives including the benchmarking of projects and design process.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design for building systems. At least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role is preferred.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large-scale commercial or institutional projects.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, lighting design, codes and standards, and construction documentation.
• Proficiency with design and analysis software and BIM workflows.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with sustainable design, LEED, Fitwel, or similar certification processes is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or client offices as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cooperate with engineer team for electrical installations including but not limited to Uninterruptible Power System (UPS)
• Provide on-site engineering, technical and administrative support

Requirements:

• Strong and in a good physical condition
• Holder of Registered Electrical Worker Certificate is preferable
• Willingness to work overtime
• Prior experience in data centre installation or related I.T. industry would be an advantage
• Able to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment

Employment Terms:

• Double Pay and Bank Holiday
• Mon to Fri: 9:00AM-6:00PM 5 working days per week, 8 working hours per day, 1.5 pay for night shift hours
