Job Description
Contract Period: 2-Month Contract
ADMS is a real-time control computer system that will monitor and control the distribution power network of CLP Power Hong Kong. It will be a state of the art system designed to meet the Company’s goals of Digitalization, Decentralization and Decarbonization.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the appointee will undertake the following major duties:
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Engineer to handle technical issues of ADMS development, including Windows system administration, local area network installation, firewall installation, development of simple in-house software such as automation tools and testing of ADMS in factory overseas
- Arrange training classes for end users, and handle other software works assigned by the Project Manager such as testing and verification
- Prepare documents to support operation and maintenance activities, and to meet the requirements of CLP Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Standard and Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Standard
- A recognized university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering of IT / OT systems, or Windows system administration, or other relevant software works. Candidates with less experience including fresh graduates will be considered as Assistant Engineer
- Proficient in software programming, network design, computer system implementation and administration
- Good problem solving skills and strong analytical abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with good spoken and written English
- A fast learner with ability to work independently and meet tight deadline
- Proactive and results oriented

Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Metering Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Reporting to the Meter Reading Supervisor, the appointee is required to manage below major duties:-
Major Duties include
- Plan, schedule and enhance the meter reading order management and route plan so as to complete the daily meter reading assignment efficiently, effectively and safely
- Manage on site metering duties including meter data retrieval/upload and answering customer enquiries
- Detect & report meter and wiring abnormalities to the reporting operation center for follow up actions
- Provide technical support for supervisor to carry out smart meter inspection program and UAT tests for system upgrade, advanced metering infrastructure deployments, new ERP migration etc
- Be the company ambassador to provide responsive, professional and value-added services to exceed customer expectations in metering aspects
- A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE including English (Syllabus B) or Level 2 or above in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in performing outdoor works
- Mindful and have good safety awareness
- Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Customer-oriented, energetic plus pleasant personality
- Possession of a valid driving license (Class 1, 2 or Class 1a/2a) will be an advantage

Qualifications:

- Proficient in Chinese (including Cantonese) and English communication skills.
- Computer literacy in office applications.
- Responsible, good interpersonal skills, communication, and supervision abilities.

Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Metering Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Reporting to the Meter Reading Supervisor, the appointee is required to manage below major duties:-
Major Duties include
- Plan, schedule and enhance the meter reading order management and route plan so as to complete the daily meter reading assignment efficiently, effectively and safely
- Manage on site metering duties including meter data retrieval/upload and answering customer enquiries
- Detect & report meter and wiring abnormalities to the reporting operation center for follow up actions
- Provide technical support for supervisor to carry out smart meter inspection program and UAT tests for system upgrade, advanced metering infrastructure deployments, new ERP migration etc
- Be the company ambassador to provide responsive, professional and value-added services to exceed customer expectations in metering aspects
- A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE including English (Syllabus B) or Level 2 or above in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in performing outdoor works
- Mindful and have good safety awareness
- Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Customer-oriented, energetic plus pleasant personality
- Possession of a valid driving license (Class 1, 2 or Class 1a/2a) will be an advantage
