Job Description
Contract period: Permanent / 2-year Contract
Duties
Applications are invited for the above vacancy in the Construction Branch of North Region. Reporting to the Senior Engineer of the Branch, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Implement construction projects for provision of supply, reinforcement of system network, diversion or other works as assigned by the branch team leaders.
- Negotiate and communicate with customers, contractors, utilities, government, developers, landowners etc. to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Supervise internal and contractor staff in the delivery of construction tasks including but not limited to cable laying, plant erection, overhead line erection and commissioning of the installed power plant.
- Supervise CLP’s frontline staff and contractors to ensure their discipline, working and safety performance.
- Carry out switching operation on LV and HV system for implementation of projects.
- Update relevant system records for the project, circuit and equipment status.
- Perform functional and technical safety audit and quality assurance checks for both internal staff and contractors with reference to legislative requirements as well as pre-determined policies, Company procedures, SHEQ standards and programmes.
- Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments for project work, and plan, schedule and set-up proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company’s requirements and Safety Rules.
- Ensure adequate and justifiable budgets are prepared for the activities of the Branch, and control the expenditure.
- Review safety, work and other documents prepared by subordinates or contractors to ensure compliance with procedures and cost control principles.
- Supervise, coach, appraise and motivate subordinates to meet present and future business needs.
- Ensure proper record updating and management.
- Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs / shift duties as and when required.
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant engineering experience in electricity industry.
- Possession of 11kV Authorized Person qualification is an advantage.
- Good understanding of CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules and relevant safety procedures, engineering standards and codes of practice.
- Analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule.
- Strong sense of responsibility, with good safety knowledge and mindset.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of functionalities of PC application e.g. Power BI, MS PowerPoint, Power Automate, MS Excel.
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, verbally and written.
- Possession of a valid Driving License (class 1, 2) is preferred.
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.

- 精通MS Office的應用及中文文書技巧
- 具良好的安全意識
- 持有效之香港駕駛執照(第1及2類/或1a及2a類)尤佳
- 能以中文(包括廣東話)及簡單英文進行口頭與書面溝通
- 有良好的人際關係、溝通能力及團隊精神

Job Details:
- Contract Duration: Long-term / 2-year contract
- Department: Technical Services / Electrical Services & Workshop
Responsibilities include:
- Under supervision, perform routine tasks such as inspecting, testing, operating, maintaining, and monitoring electrical equipment and systems; record data and verify relevant information.
- Handle and operate laboratory information management systems and related applications.
- Use testing instruments correctly and assist in identifying site issues.
- Assist in supervising contractors' work onsite to ensure compliance with standards.
- Guide and train apprentices and junior staff.
- Participate in promoting safety, health, environment, and quality culture.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by superiors.
- Be available for emergency calls, overtime, shift work, and outdoor duties in adverse weather conditions when needed.
Qualifications:
- Form 5 or above, with recognized apprenticeship training or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Valid Hong Kong driving license (Class 1 & 2 / 1A & 2A) preferred.
- Valid general staff qualification (for employees) preferred.
- Knowledge of CLP safety regulations, legal requirements, safety and environmental standards, engineering instructions, and procedures.
- Mechanical maintenance knowledge.
- Good safety awareness.
- Proficient in spoken and written Chinese (including Cantonese) and basic English.
- Good interpersonal, communication skills, and team spirit.
Note: Candidates with less than full qualifications but with Form 5 and a positive attitude may be considered for lower positions with training opportunities.
