Responsibilities And Duties

• Reporting to CTO, you are responsible for:
• Oversee and lead software development with teams in Hong Kong and Shenzhen for commercial purposes.
• Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
• Guide, instruct and train software engineers and ensure efficiency and quality are achieved.
• Establish and enforce software development standards and framework by adopting industry best practices and industry quality standards relevant to the company's business.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Minimum BSc degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science, with experience in wireless communication systems and/or 5G IAB.
• Knowledge of C/C++ on Linux Kernel and Linux networking.
• Proven experience in leading the software development team and collaborating with contractors for successful project delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, management, and leadership skills.
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience, with 1-3 years at supervisory level preferred.
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) is essential; knowledge of Cantonese and/or Putonghua is a plus.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in the blockchain or cryptocurrency industry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of engineers, drive technical innovation, and deliver complex projects on schedule.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively to overcome technical challenges and optimize processes.

The BootStack team designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers. From Kubernetes to OpenStack and everything in-between, you'll be working with the latest technology in a fast-paced engineering environment. As a Cloud Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you will be responsible for managing the engineers that oversee day-to-day Managed Service of customer environments, including customer service management, managed services operations and consistent product improvement engineering. Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is critical to success.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

We are hiring a GitOps Engineering Manager aspiring for a world-class devops and gitops engineering management challenge, bringing together operations management, software engineering and product development, and team leadership in a single high-value role. You will need to be a Linux and operations expert, as well as a great manager capable of leading a high-performance team, to excel in this role.

Our mission is to pioneer and prove new and better approaches to large-scale IS. We are hiring a Web Engineering Manager to work collaboratively with many teams and roles across the organisation including product managers and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable and delightful user experiences for users of Canonical products.

As an Engineering Manager at Canonical, your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as web engineers, doing valuable work, and generally having a great time at Canonical. As a lead for strong engineers, technical leadership and a solid background in web development is a must so that you're able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery, and work with your team on strategy and execution.

Location : This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region.

The role entails

• Demonstrate sound engineering principles by directly contributing to your team's goals
• Estimate work, set goals, and meet them
• Design and implement well-tested and documented software in Web technologies or Flutter.
• Debug and fix issues encountered by your users
• Participate in our engineering process through code and architectural reviews
• Collaborate with community and colleagues on technical specifications
• Contribute to technical documentation to make it the best of its kind
• Seek improvements to engineering and operations practices
• Deploy and operate services developed by the team
• Contribute to the success of your product through technical advocacy
  
  

• You are knowledgeable and passionate about web and software development
• You value soft skills and are passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated
• An exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path
• Drive and a track record of going above and beyond expectations
• Well-organised, self-starting and able to deliver to schedule
• Professional manner in interacting with colleagues, partners, and community
• Experience designing and writing high-quality Web technologies
• Experience with and passion for Typescript, React or Flutter
• An eye for accessibility and performance
• Professional written and spoken English
• Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
• Passion, thoughtfulness, and self-motivation
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Result-oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments
• Ability to travel twice a year, for company events for up to two weeks each
  
  

• Experience with container tech such as LXD, Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience building and maintaining a talented team
• REST API design, development and governance
• Performance engineering and security experience
