JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will supervise the Production Planning Team (currently 4 team members) who ensure factory on-time and acceptable quality production. You will also assist the Sr. Manager in managing raw material commitments and tracking work orders against factory capacity. You will foster a healthy working relationship with factory partners and trouble shoot issues that arise in order to determine an acceptable resolution.
The ideal candidate must be capable of influencing a positive team environment and possess a track record of driving factory on-time delivery performance. Candidates should have experience working with foreign suppliers, preferably in the trim and packaging industry. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager - Global Production, Sourcing and Compliance located in the USA. Some travel to visit factories in China and Vietnam is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
See below for more details on these responsibilities, they are in no particular order:
- Supervise: guide the Hong Kong Production Planning Team in efficiently scheduling and producing trim and packaging items with external suppliers. Ensure balanced and appropriate workload for each staff.
- Capacity Management: monitor factory capacity by product type and report to the Sr. Manager to ensure that work orders are well balanced across capable factories.
- Vendor Performance: assist in establishing vendor KPI (Key Performance Indicators) by utilizing analytical data; make recommendations on future work order allocation according to KPI analysis.
- Raw Material Management: manage the raw material inventory at factories for Brand ID's key accounts; track Work Order issuance against existing raw material inventory during peak seasons. Coordinate with Sales for raw material replenishment.
- Troubleshooting: evaluate situations, take action, and escalate as needed regarding factory production and quality issues.
- CNY Schedule Adjustments: guide Production Planning Team in monitoring and adjusting the necessary production schedule modifications as impacted by CNY closures.
- Factory Performance Reviews: conduct weekly report reviews with each of the Production Planning Team members
- Factory Performance Management: review monthly production reports of all top volume factories with the respective Production Planner and conduct a monthly comprehensive review meeting with the factory and the Production Planner.
- Management Updates: attend weekly meetings w/ the Sr. Manager to review factory performance in terms of lead time and on-time delivery, as well as provide updates on any quality issues and outstanding CAPs.
- Lead Time Management by Product Category: monitor lead time per product category and make suggestions to leadership regarding allowed lead times per product category, notable exceptions due to manufacturing complexity, and factory adherence to standard lead times.
- Training: conduct training of the Production Planning team on new processes and business rules to achieve company goals.
- Relationship Management: foster internal and external relationships and work cross-functionally with other Brand ID Departments (notably Product Development, Quality Control and Customer Service) to achieve optimal results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of supply chain or procurement experience - preferably in the garment industry
- 1-3 years supervisory/management experience
- Advanced proficiency in Google Suite
- Salesforce experience (preferred)
- Broad-based understanding of Supplier Management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (both English and Chinese) with the ability to confidently present complex information.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Fluent English is a requirement.
- Fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
