Job Overview:
We are seeking a Finance Analyst / Assistant Accountant with experience in accounting or finance. In addition, experience within operations from a trading firm or other financial institutions, particularly in a fund management environment, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day to day accounting function of the business and collaborate with the finance team to assist the CFO in ensuring accurate accounting and financial reporting. This is a fast-paced role in an intense industry where proactive attitude is key and requires the candidate to be flexible and work to tight deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage full sets of accounts, bank reconciliation and month-end reporting
- Process trade reconciliations, settlements and other operational activities to ensure timely and accurate processing
- Support accounting functions including monthly and year-end fund financial statements and regulatory filings
- Assist with the funds' periodic Net Asset Value (NAV) calculation and other fund accounting outputs for review
- Support the preparation of necessary financial data for audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complies with regulations.
- Perform reconciliations of cash and trade positions, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Work towards improving operational efficiency and accuracy
- Escalate issues in a timely manner and help establish best practices
- Coordinate external counterparties, acting as a liaison to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues
Requirements:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of fund accounting and financial reporting standards.
- At least 3 years in Fund admin/ Fund accounting/ Fund Operations/ Fund audit experience
- Familiar with trade lifecycle, settlement procedures, fund structures (e.g. hedge funds), and compliance with SFC regulations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel; experience with PMS
- Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills, a positive can-do attitude, and a collaborative team player

What You'll Do
Month end closing & financial analysis
- Familiar with month end closing processes including full general ledger, Balance Sheet and P&L; Experience in consolidation is also an added advantage.
- Familiar with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) – IFRS/US GAAP etc.
- Conducting MOM (Month-on-month) variance analysis.
- Prior experience in engaging outsourced bookkeeping team will be an added advantage.
- Assisting any audit requirements (Internal and external ones).
- Liaising with relevant internal stakeholders regarding vendor payments; Reviewing vendors' invoices and being responsible for its timely payment processing.
- If needed, assisting relevant purchasing requestors and procurement team across APAC region.
Financial Projects and Process Improvements
- Define and deliver process improvements across Finance team, focusing on:
- Process design/redesigning.
- Time-saving opportunities.
- Controls and risk assessment.

Your Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business studies or any professional accountancy qualification.
- 3-5 years working experience as Accountant/Accounts officer (or similar).
- Strong knowledge (and application) in accounting standards such as US GAAP, IFRS or equivalent.
- Well-versed in accounting & vendor payment processing functions.
- High level of written and spoken English. Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) also preferred.
- Excellent computer and accounting software skills (especially Excel).
Not a Must But a Great Advantage
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics (NAV) / Business Central ERP.
- Experience in managing Asia Pacific region (or multiple regions).
- Experience in cross-border e-commerce, online payment industry an advantage.
