About The Role
Support the Associate Director in driving financial planning, performance management, and strategic initiatives across Pension, Employee Benefits, and IVS business lines. Roles And Responsibilities
Expense Management
- Champion a culture of financial discipline by enforcing budgetary controls and promoting cost-conscious decision-making across all CS functions
- Monitor and manage operating expenses to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets
- Lead regular expense review sessions with section heads to identify cost-saving opportunities, enhance transparency, and drive accountability
Finance Management and Planning
- Support the preparation and consolidation of financial forecasts and annual budgets across CS business lines
- Analyse key performance indicators (e.g., VONB, OPBT, TWPI, AUM) to inform business reviews and strategic decisions
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful financial reporting
Sales Strategy Support
- Partner with Distribution teams to execute sales strategies and campaign initiatives that drive business growth
- Assist in the design and administration of incentive programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and performance goals
- Provide analytical support to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of sales initiatives
Pension Portfolio Management
- Deliver analytical and operational support on pension-related matters, including new fund setup, assumption reviews, and regulatory responses
- Collaborate with Finance and Actuarial teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and sound financial governance
- Prepare documentation and participate in Fund Review Committee meetings as required
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Business Management / Accounting / Commerce / Finance
- At least 5 years reporting working experience in an Insurance Company/ Fund management company preferable
- Proficient computer software skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)

- Assist in developing automated accounting and financial reporting solutions to suit the ambition and needs of our clients financial reporting teams to support the preparation of their financial and management reporting
- Support testing activities for finance systems (SIT/UAT/E2E) and assist with issue resolution and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-border teams and communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure project success
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong client service orientation and excellent communication skills
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting processes within the financial services industry
- Experience in IFRS 17 implementation, reporting or audit is preferred
- Knowledge of SOX requirements and robust ICFR frameworks
- Knowledge of financial reporting tools (e.g. Workiva, Alteryx) and/or general ledger ad sub-ledger (e.g. SAP, SAS, Aptitude, Oracle) a plus
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project-management skills
- Self-starter with proactive mindset and ability to work independently
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline. Professional accounting qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in audit or finance, where the experience of working for Big4 firms and/or financial sector (banking and/or insurance) is preferred
- Good comprehensive understanding of the Finance function
- Able to communicate with seasoned Finance professionals of EY clients confidently
- Good understanding of IFRS 17/ LDTI is desired
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred
