Responsibilities:

Budgeting and forecasting

• Partner with department heads to drive the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting exercise for all business units
• Continuously improve the budgeting/forecasting process to support the delivery of the company's strategic objectives

Business Performance Review

• Analyse the monthly management report including profit and loss account, cash flow reports and balance sheet etc., interpret the financial and non-financial data and KPIs to provide deep insights on actual performance vs. budget/forecast
• Research on the latest trends, updates, and new economy platform players in the automotive market, and propose appropriate benchmarking for business evaluation

Financial partner to the business units

• Partner with department heads to provide professional support and advice in terms of business performance monitoring, financial implications of various business activities, investment evaluation, and cost controls opportunities etc.

Special projects

• Drive company level strategic initiatives and push for results through working with various functional heads
• Prepare scenario planning or other financial modelling to assist management's decision-making on potential business opportunities or investments

Other supports

• Support management with insightful storytelling regarding business performance to be used for all external key stakeholders
• Prepare required regular and ad-hoc presentation materials to external key stakeholders, e.g. shareholder and other Jardines group functions

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Finance/Accounting/BBA with CPA qualification
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in Big-4 advisory/corporate finance; or in a retail industry's FP&A/Corporate Finance team. Experience in the automotive or other consumer retail sectors is highly preferred
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to think both strategically and laterally
• Confidence and proven ability to interpret financial data and distil key message behind to influence management's decision-making
• Experienced in structuring, managing and coordinating cross-functional projects
• Excellent in Excel modelling and PowerPoint formatting skills
• Strong research and presentation skills
• A proactive self-starter and problem solver, and able to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at a time
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills in both English and Cantonese
• Ability to work well with people at all levels and all functions
• Interested in automotive industry is a plus

About the role

This full-time Financial Markets Analyst – Global Markets role at Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd., Hong Kong Branch. You will be responsible for providing strategic, high-quality, and independent analysis to support the bank's global markets.

Responsibilities:

• Perform research on global financial markets (including interest rates, FX, commodities etc) and marcoeconomic trends
• Monitor fiscal and monetary policies of major countries and region including but not limited to China, the US, Europe and Hong Kong, geopolitical risks and industry developments affecting market dynamics
• Prepare regular and ad hoc analytical report to management to facilitate their decision making
• Maintain economic and financial databases
• Perform ad hoc duties as required

Requirements:

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; Holder of TMA membership is preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial markets analysis of trading or portfolio management

Job Description:

1. Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, etc.) in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness;

2. Ensure compliance of public company financial reporting with SEC regulations (e.g., 10-K, 10-Q) and complete relevant regulatory filings;

3. Monitor updates to U.S. GAAP, assess their impact on financial reporting, and develop and implement corresponding policies;

4. Coordinate internal and external audits, provide audit support, and follow up on issue remediation;

5. Establish and improve accounting policies and financial management systems to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company operational needs;

6. Design and maintain internal controls for financial reporting, identify key risk areas, regularly assess control effectiveness, and drive improvements;

7. Conduct financial data analysis (ratio analysis, trend analysis, budget performance, etc.), prepare analytical reports, and support management decision-making;

8. Participate in strategic planning and major decisions (e.g., investments, M&A, financing), providing financial modeling and risk assessment;

9. Oversee team recruitment, training, and performance management to enhance team expertise;

10. Collaborate with internal departments (business, legal, tax, etc.) to provide financial support and maintain relationships with external partners (auditors, investment banks, etc.).

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Banking, or a related field;

2. Possession of professional certifications such as AICPA or CICPA;

3. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience;

4. Prior experience in a U.S.-listed company or a large accounting firm is preferred. Familiarity with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and financial reporting requirements for public companies is essential;

5. Experience leading IPO projects, with a preference for candidates who have overseen the full-cycle financial statement audits and special audits for U.S.-listed companies;

6. Thorough knowledge in U.S. GAAP, with the ability to accurately apply relevant standards in financial statement preparation, auditing, and disclosure;

7. Strong financial analysis skills, capable of conducting in-depth assessments of a company's financial condition, operational performance, and cash flows to support management decision-making;

8. Ability to identify and evaluate financial risks (e.g., market risk, credit risk, foreign exchange risk) and develop appropriate risk management strategies;

9. Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken), with the ability to fluently discuss work matters, prepare reports, and collaborate with international teams;

10. Strong leadership and team management skills, able to guide teams to complete tasks efficiently, motivate members to maximize potential, and enhance work quality and productivity;
