Job Description

  • Responsible for providing overall administrative support to the Financial Institutions department
  • Coordinate with clients and handle the enquiries in order to assist relationship management team with banks and non-bank financial institutions
  • Handle account opening, remittance, anti-money laundering and ensure the daily operations are in compliance
  • Degree holder or above in Business Administration or equivalent qualifications at HKQF level 5
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in global financial institutions
  • Familiar with MS Office applications and Chinese word processing
  • High language proficiency in both English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua is a must

Candidates with more experience will be considered as Assistant Client Services Manager

Overview

An exclusive role to recruit for for a Head of Banks, Financial Institutions to join a large established bank and lead the FI Department to achieve business targets and execute adhoc projects of the department.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team and be responsible to drive revenue from Banks business (in particulary PRC Banks) and align with Financial Institutions Department and to implement action plans for achieving business targets of the Department;
  • Understand Correspondent Banks’ transaction banking business needs in order to accommodate their specific needs and interests
  • To ensure the F.I. Banks portfolio are in strict compliance of the Bank’s credit policies;
  • To approve credit exposures of counterparties according to the delegated authority;
  • To work closely with other departments and stakeholders and to support / accommodate their respective business needs in order to accomplish business targets for the Bank;
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers with key FIs and regulators
  • Keep up-to-date with market competitive dynamics and industry conditions that impact opportunity and portfolio performance
  • Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity;

Requirements

  • 12+ years’ Corporate banking (FI) experience from leading international banks
  • Experience in motivating teams and managing people across borders, setting and achieving goals to drive a high performance culture
  • Preferably over 5 years experience in leading a team for achieving the business targets for the department;
  • Strong knowledge in correspondent banking / treasury / clearings related products;
  • Strong leadership skills and communication skills in English and Mandarin;
  • Mature, high caliber and be able to work under pressure.

  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business development targeting overseas financial institutions ( banks, payment institutions, or other financial institutions). Familiarity with the cross-border payment industry is preferred .
  • Professional Knowledge & Skills: Solid financial knowledge. Familiarity with cross-border payment business processes and relevant policies/regulations.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong sense of ambition, responsibility, and initiative. Able to withstand significant work pressure.

What would your role be?

  • On-board and monetize new clients

  • Increase share of wallet with innovative structured solutions and products

  • Ownership of transversal tasks of various taskforces - product development, platform project management and new markets

  • Degree in finance, management, economics, mathematics or science major
  • Experience in a similar role ideally with exposure to External Asset managers/Banks
  • Strong interest in financial markets and good understanding of derivatives instruments

Overview

An exclusive role to recruit a Head of Banks, Financial Institutions to join a large established bank and lead the FI Department in achieving business targets and executing departmental projects.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead a small team to drive revenue from Banks (particularly PRC Banks) and align with the Financial Institutions Department, implementing action plans to meet business targets;
  • Understand the transaction banking needs of Correspondent Banks to accommodate their specific requirements;
  • Ensure the F.I. Banks portfolio complies with the Bank’s credit policies;
  • Approve credit exposures of counterparties within delegated authority;
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support business needs and achieve targets;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key FIs, regulators, and decision-makers;
  • Stay updated on market dynamics and industry conditions affecting opportunities and portfolio performance;
  • Comply with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines, maintaining high integrity.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of corporate banking (FI) experience from leading international banks;
  • Experience motivating teams and managing cross-border teams to foster high performance;
  • Preferably over 5 years of leading a team to achieve departmental business targets;
  • Strong knowledge of correspondent banking, treasury, and clearing products;
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills in English and Mandarin;
  • Mature, high-caliber, and able to work under pressure.

About The Role

As a Director, Transaction Banking Financial Institutions (TBFI) Sales, you will be responsible for driving business growth across a portfolio of Financial Institution clients, covering Banks headquartered in China, HK and Taiwan as well as in-bound International Banks, and selected Non-Bank Financial Institutions such as brokers/dealers, insurance firms etc. You will grow revenue from existing relationships while proactively originating new opportunities through an advisory-led approach, leveraging the bank’s global capabilities and network.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will structure and deliver tailored transaction banking solutions that address client needs and create long-term value. Your ability to navigate complex client environments and align strategic objectives will be key to deepening relationships and positioning the bank as a trusted partner.

What will your day look like?

As a Director, TB FI Sales, you will;

  • Manage and grow revenue for the assigned portfolio of clients
  • Identify new business opportunities, customize Transaction Banking solutions, deliver presentations and demonstrations for clients, and lead or support RFI/RFP processes
  • Develop and execute Transaction Banking Financial Institutions (TB FI) sales strategies and initiatives
  • Work with a diverse set of stakeholders across the globe, including FIG Relationship Management, Product teams covering Payment and Cash Management (PCM) and Trade Finance (Trade), Technology, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Client Service / Implementation teams, and Enablement teams to deliver positive business outcomes and uplift customer experience
  • While achieving your set revenue and returns target, exercise strong discipline in well-managed agenda through proactive management of risk and compliance matters, including timely escalation to the appropriate business partners


What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred
  • Extensive experience in the Transaction Banking business, with a strong track record in sales preferred
  • Strong specialist product knowledge in Transaction Banking solutions, especially Clearing Services, Payments and Cash Management, and Trade Finance
  • Regional Transaction Banking product knowledge and understanding of APAC markets, with a good grasp of the Greater China market
  • Curiosity and understanding of digital trends and innovations such as Real-Time Payments, Digital Assets, APIs, etc.
  • Ability to identify business opportunities and develop effective sales strategies
  • Proven capability to manage competing agendas and priorities across a diverse client portfolio and multiple internal stakeholders
  • Results-oriented mindset with strong perseverance and a solutions-driven approach
  • Autonomous self-starter with meticulous attention to work quality and standards, while also being a collaborative team player
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and data visualization/analytics software
  • Ability to read and write in Chinese is a must; fluency in Mandarin speaking is also a must, as the role involves regular engagement with Chinese-speaking clients and stakeholders, including reviewing client documentation and conducting business discussions in Mandarin
