Key Responsibilities

  • Risk Framework Governance
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive finance risk management framework and playbook, aligned with COSO ERM principles and Lenovo’s business objectives.
    • Establish clear risk ownership, roles, and responsibilities (RR) across finance, ensuring accountability and escalation protocols.
    • Coordinate with the central risk governance team to ensure consistency with corporate risk management policies and guidelines.
    • Lead annual reviews and updates of risk policies, procedures, and delegated authorities (DOA/SOD).
  • Risk Identification, Assessment Reporting
    • Identify, profile, and assess financial risks (credit, operational, compliance, fraud, etc.) using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
    • Drive the linkage of risk insights (e.g., QFDP findings) with financial planning, accounting, and business strategy.
    • Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk dashboards for regular reporting to finance leadership and executive committees.
    • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance checks.
  • Risk Process Controls
    • Standardize end-to-end risk management processes, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation, reporting, and escalation.
    • Facilitate risk deep-dives and scenario analysis on emerging risks, supporting crisis management and business continuity planning.
    • Ensure robust control frameworks are in place, with regular testing and validation of process control points.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Advisory
    • Partner with Group FPA, Group GEM, Treasury, AR, Legal, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure risk processes are embedded across all finance operations.
    • Provide risk management advisory for new system implementations, business initiatives, and corporate projects.
    • Support cross-functional training and awareness programs to promote a culture of risk management and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement Technology Enablement
    • Leverage technology and data governance tools to enhance risk analytics, monitoring, and reporting.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating lessons learned and post-incident reviews into the risk management cycle.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CPA, CIA) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (preferably in consultancy workstream) in finance risk management, internal audit, or related roles within a multinational or complex business environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing risk frameworks, policies, and playbooks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; ability to translate complex risk issues into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; experience working in matrixed, cross-cultural teams.
  • Proficiency in risk management tools and finance systems (e.g., SAP, BPC, Power BI).
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Service Line Overview

KPMG’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) team advises clients on the development and implementation of risk management policies, systems and controls. Working with professionals from KPMG International and local network we offer a broad range of financial risk management services to help international banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and corporate and public clients identify, assess, manage, report, and limit the risks they face.

Our scope of the work covers the full spectrum of financial risks, such as credit risk, market risk, operational risk and liquidity risk; economic capital, capital management, stress testing, risk modelling and validation; regulatory compliance issues; ESG and Asset and Liability Management. Clients include local and foreign financial institutions, and there is a strong focus on financial institutions in mainland China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engagement leaders to provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of FRM projects to financial


institutions, in particular:

  • Review and advise enhancements on market risk and counterparty credit risk management frameworks;
  • Validate closed-form and numerical (including but not limited to Monte-Carlo simulation and finite difference methods)


pricing models across interest rate, FX, equity, credit and commodity asset classes through benchmarking and replication techniques;

  • Validate risk sensitivities, market risk, counterparty credit risk measurement and /or Credit Valuation Adjustment (“CVA”) models through benchmarking and replication techniques; and/or
  • Validate the implementation of market risk capital requirements, counterparty credit risk capital requirements and/or initial


margin models

  • Support or act as engagement manager in engagement planning, scheduling, coordination, and administration of


engagements

  • Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel, and lead client meetings
  • Assist with proposal drafting and business development activities
  • Build strong internal relationships within the Advisory practice and across other services


Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Data Science or related discipline from an accredited college / university
  • Around 2-5 year of experience in market risk management, counterparty credit risk management, model development and/or model validation related areas, and preferably experience gained in professional services firms or financial institutions.
  • Following technical knowledge and working experience is highly preferred:
  • Knowledge in latest Basel capital standards (i.e. FRTB and SA-CCR) and initial margin models (i.e. SIMM)
  • Knowledge in complex financial instrument valuation models (including but not limited to jump-diffusion models and stochastic local volatility models) and risk measurement models
  • Knowledge in numerical methods (including but not limited to probability theory, partial differential equations, optimization


and Monte-Carlo simulation techniques)

  • Working experience with Python, VBA and/or C++
  • Qualified FRM, CFA, HKICPA, ACCA, AICPA or equivalent would be advantageous
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua)
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment. Highly adaptive and flexible

Job Summary:

Financial Risk Management (FRM) is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and tools to manage emerging financial risks across an organization. Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Join the Group Financial Risk Management team and support the financial analysis and database projects
  • Assist in assigned project-based initiatives by providing market research and analysis
  • Design and deploy automation aimed at enhancing the efficiency of risk monitoring processes and strengthening risk assessment and research capabilities
  • Actively participate in analytics enablement efforts, including the development of dashboards and data visualizations
  • Support data maintenance and migration activities to ensure the availability of data for financial risk assessments
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for new initiatives and cross clearing house events

Requirements:

  • A degree holder or equivalent in quantitative finance, mathematics, economics or related discipline
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in financial markets, with knowledge of financial products and associated risks factors. Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Associate role.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI, and automations tools like PowerAutomate, is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in data and statistical analysis, with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong skills in SQL, data modeling and data warehousing.

Job Summary:
Financial Risk Management (FRM) is responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and tools to manage emerging financial risks across an organization. FRM focuses on identifying, measuring, and mitigating financial risks such as credit and market risk, while also conducting in-depth thematic and ad-hoc risk analyses to inform strategic decisions and strengthen the organization’s overall risk posture.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities:

  • Join the Group Financial Risk Management team and support the financial analysis and database projects
  • Assist in assigned project-based initiatives by providing market research and analysis
  • Design and deploy automation aimed at enhancing the efficiency of risk monitoring processes and strengthening risk assessment and research capabilities
  • Actively participate in analytics enablement efforts, including the development of dashboards and data visualizations
  • Support data maintenance and migration activities to ensure the availability of data for financial risk assessments
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for new initiatives and cross clearing house events
Requirements:
  • A degree holder or equivalent in quantitative finance, mathematics, economics or related discipline
  • 3 to 8 years of experience in financial markets, with knowledge of financial products and associated risks factors. Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Associate role.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI, and automations tools like PowerAutomate, is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in data and statistical analysis, with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong skills in SQL, data modeling and data warehousing.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams, able to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Fluent in English and Chinese.

Service Line Overview

KPMG’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) team advises clients on the development and implementation of risk management policies, systems and controls. Working with professionals from KPMG International and local network we offer a broad range of financial risk management services to help international banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and corporate and public clients identify, assess, manage, report, and limit the risks they face.

Our scope of the work covers the full spectrum of financial risks, such as credit risk, market risk, operational risk and liquidity risk; economic capital, capital management, stress testing, risk modeling and validation. There is a particular emphasis currently on assisting clients prepare for the implementation of FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book)/Basel IV and other current local and international regulatory and risk management initiatives. Clients include local and foreign financial institutions, and there is a strong focus on financial institutions in mainland China.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with policy, framework, regulation, process, methodology, models and systems related to different risks, including but not only Credit/Market Risk etc.
  • Manage the execution of FRM Risk engagements to ensure quality service is delivered
  • Develop and maintain productive client relationships, maximising business opportunities
  • Supervise a growing specialist team and contribute to the career development of team members
  • Play a key role in business development across regions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of risk management practices, both locally and internationally.
  • Build strong internal relationships within Advisory practice and across other services.


Experience & Background

  • Degree holder in Finance, Risk Management, Accounting/Financial and Actuarial Engineering/Business Mathematics or any other business related discipline
  • At least 7 years' experience in professional services advisory, management consultancy, international banking, insurance or a blue chip industry company with demonstrable experience in financial risk management
  • Possess a depth of knowledge in credit/market risk in:
  • Financial Risk Management within a Banking or Securities firm
  • IFRS 9 Impairments and Expected Credit Loss Modelling
  • Knowledge of advanced approaches for Market Risk (IMA) including backtesting
  • Capital treatments for banking book or trading book credit instruments/interest rate related instruments/ currency and commodities, and equity in the trading book under the Basel (CBRC and or HKMA) definitions
  • Credit risk modelling skills (i.e. PD%, LGD, EAD or development of expert judgment scorecards)
  • Experience with Credit Risk Model validation (i.e. quantitative and or qualitative Validation)
  • Basel II related implementation experience and knowledge preferably on the advanced approaches for credit risk (FIRB and or AIRB)
  • Understanding of VaR analysis and related control processes and policy
  • Financial instrument valuation and methodologies and P&L attribution as relates to the trading book
  • Experience with SAS, R, Metlab is a plus
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and respect of senior executives
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure managing multiple/ large scale projects or project deliverables
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with a pragmatic approach to problem solving

There is a particular emphasis currently on the local and international regulatory and risk management initiatives, such as ICRM and Basel III implementation. Our service scope includes but not limits to risk rating under IRB approach, RWA, BELR, stress testing, model validation, risk monitoring and etc. Clients include both local and global financial institutions, and especially there is a strong focus on Chinese financial institutions in Hong Kong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Engagement Managers to provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of FRM projects to financial institutions, in particular:
  • Planning, implementation, and process optimization of credit risk management for financial institutions
  • Developing tools to measure, monitor and report on financial risk issues
  • Quantitative evaluation and management of credit risks
  • Risk solution within the instruction of HKMA and other regulators
  • Support Engagement Managers in engagement planning, scheduling, coordination and administration of engagements
  • Develop and maintain proactive and responsible working relationships with client personnel, and lead client meetings
  • Assist with proposal drafting and business development activities


Experience & Background

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Financial Engineering, Financial Risk Management, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • Around 1 - 5 years’ experience in credit risk management, and preferably experience gained in professional services firms or commercial banks.
  • Experience with VBA, Python, C++, SQL, R, SAS, Matlab is a plus
  • Qualified HKICPA, ACCA, AICPA, CIA, FRM, CFA or equivalent would be advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese, fluency in Putonghua would be advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment. Highly adaptive and flexible

【Service Line Overview】

KPMG’s Financial Risk Management (FRM) team advises clients on the development and implementation of risk data analysis and models, risk management policies and procedures, systems and controls. Working with professionals from KPMG International and local network we offer a broad range of financial risk management services to help international banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and corporate and public clients identify, assess, manage, report, and limit the risks they face.

Our scope of work covers the full spectrum of financial risks, such as credit risk, market risk, operational risk and liquidity risk. There is a particular emphasis currently on the local and international regulatory and risk management initiatives. Our service scope includes but not limits to risk rating under IRB approach, RWA, BELR, stress testing, model validation, risk monitoring and etc. Clients include both local and global financial institutions, and especially there is a strong focus on Chinese financial institutions in Hong Kong.

【Job requirements】

Support Colleagues to provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of FRM projects to financial institutions, in particular:

  • Planning, implementation, and process optimization of credit risk management for financial institutions
  • Developing tools to measure, monitor and report on financial risk issues
  • Quantitative evaluation and management of credit risks
  • Risk solution within the instruction of HKMA and other regulators
  • Support Engagement Team in engagement planning, scheduling, coordination and administration of engagements
  • Develop and maintain proactive and responsible working relationships with client personnel, and lead client meetings
  • Assist with proposal drafting and business development activities

【Experience & Background】

  • Majors in Financial Engineering, Financial Risk Management, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Software Engineering
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, Python, VBA, R is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese, fluency in Putonghua would be advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
