Main Activities And Responsibilities
Market Risk Management:
- Monitor, analyze, and manage market risk exposures related to precious metals and FX markets
- Develop and enhance risk models to assess potential impacts of market movements.
- Establish and maintain risk limits, ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Collaborate with traders to assess hedge effectiveness and trading strategies.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate potential market risks.
- Prepare regular reports on risk exposures, trends, and mitigation measures for senior management
Credit Risk Management
- Assess counterparty creditworthiness by conducting due diligence and financial analysis.
- Monitor credit exposures and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement credit risk frameworks, policies, and guidelines.
- Manage collateral requirements and ensure adequate risk-adjusted pricing for counterparties.
- Prepare regular reports on risk exposures, trends, and mitigation measures for senior management.
Required Education And Experience
- Master's degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in risk management, preferably within a commodities or banking environment.
- Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are a plus.
- Advanced Excel, VBA, SQL, and Python skills for data analysis and risk modeling are a plus.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
- Fluency in English is a must; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets, including trading, derivatives, and hedging strategies.
- Understanding of key financial instruments used in commodity and FX markets (Spot, Forwards, Swaps, Options etc.). Experience in the precious metals industry is a plus.

Financial Risk Management (80%)
- Monitor credit exposures for deposit, invoiced brokerage receivables and trade exposure to matched principal broking activity
- Investigate, escalate and resolve credit risk excesses
- Fundamentally assess clients and approve credit grades when the client can not be assessed by the onboarding team.

- Work with the business to ensure its end-to-end risk profile is managed actively and appropriately and in a commercial manner.
- Partner with the business to evaluate the adequacy of its control and policy framework in mitigating the risks that are inherent to its risk profile and leverage expertise to challenge the business's logic/assumptions to ensure controls are adequate and effective.
- Support the business in monitoring its end-to-end risk profile. This includes ensuring appropriate MI, analysis and commentary are produced. Take part in regular engagement and/or management meetings to provide an independent second line view of the business's risk profile.
- Support the business in undertaking immediate actions to mitigate or contain significant events and ensure those events are escalated to the appropriate level of management, and ensure that risk matters arising on a day-to-day basis are managed in accordance with risk framework requirements.

Reporting and Monitoring (as second line of defence) (10%)
- Facilitate and organize relevant committees' meeting such as the Financial Risk Committee.
- Support the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment reporting to regulator.
- Facilitate regular risk reporting submission to Group Office, risk committees and escalation of key risks to management.
- Monitor adherence of risk tolerances, limits and thresholds.
Minimum Job Requirements
- University graduate with minimum 12 years relevant experience
- Qualified Actuary, CFA and/or CAIA
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Developed financial acumen and business orientation
- Hands on derivative and ALM experience is a plus
- Comfortable to give constructive challenge on key initiatives and projects and provide an independent assessment
- Able to communicate financial risk matters with senior management effectively

We help clients manage regulatory compliance, enforcement actions, financial crime, and other regulatory investigation related matters (excluding the practice of law). These services are usually in support of the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Internal Legal Counsel, External Legal Counsel or other designated client leaders responsible for regulatory, compliance, and financial crime issues, delivered through:
- Regulatory & Compliance;
- Financial Industry Risk & Regulatory;
- Financial Crime
- Demonstrate a strong capability to learn, specialize and initiate application of domain knowledge that contributes to effective implementation of business solutions
- Ability to understand the basics of Deloitte's methodology, assets and tools in the broader area of business solutions to support the team towards implementation of solutions
- Proactively work towards building a domain specific knowledge and demonstrates awareness of key developments in offerings
- Support and deliver risk and regulatory advisory and business transformation projects; producing high quality project deliverables as per the expected scope and timelines
- Participate in eminence building initiatives to strengthen Deloitte's leading position in the provision of risk advisory services, e.g. participating in events and publications
- Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of advisory tools and methodologies

- Industry experience from leading advisory firms / banks / insurers / exchanges / regulators / tech firms
- International working experience would be an advantage
- Experience in working across complex matrix environments; the ideal individual should also be international in their outlook as well as culturally sensitive
- Familiarity with the evolving and complex regulatory environment in the context of financial institutions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluency in written and spoken business English and Chinese
- Capability to support transformation and change; and work with enthusiasm, drive and effectiveness
