The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong's external trade, seeks a detail-oriented System QA Tester to ensure the quality and functionality of our newly developed next-generation B2B trading platform, designed to serve global clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating closely with internal IT teams, frontline & internal users and external third-party vendors to ensure high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare test cases/scripts and other relevant documents for conducting UAT
- Facilitate and conduct acceptance test (UAT), log defects and record test results
- Communicate and liaise with project team to identify and resolve issues/bugs, maintain the deliverable's quality
- Validate fixes and ensure compliance with business requirements and UX standards
- Bridge technical and business needs by validating solutions against real-world trade requirements
Requirements:
- Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- 1 year or above relevant working experience in software testing / using systems is preferable
- Experience on issue tracking tool (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.) is an added advantage
- Detail minded, patient, self-motivated and good time management
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
- Good command of written and spoken in both Chinese and English
- Fresh graduates will also be considered
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis, renewable subject to operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Tester with experience in software quality assurance and fixed line operations (Landline & Broadband). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and executing test cases (manual and/or automated), performing UAT for telecom services, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and processes.
You will collaborate with developers, business stakeholders, and project teams to validate requirements, track defects, and contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Planning & Design
- Review and analyze business requirements, technical specifications, and workflows related to fixed line services.
- Design and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and UAT scenarios.
- Define test scope, objectives, and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
- Test Execution
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing across web, mobile, and telecom systems.
- Validate system functionality, data integrity, and end-to-end processes (Landline & Broadband).
- Execute manual and/or automated test cases.
- Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
- Retest and verify fixes to ensure issues are resolved before release.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Support business users during UAT, guiding them through test scenarios and addressing queries.
Provide clear, timely feedback and status reports on testing progress, issues, and results.
Maintain accurate test artifacts (test cases, scripts, data, reports).
Continuous Improvement
Suggest enhancements to QA processes, methodologies, and tools.
Stay updated with industry best practices in software testing and telecom quality assurance.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field.
2+ years of experience in software testing or UAT, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Familiarity with fixed line operations (Landline & Broadband), billing, provisioning, or CRM systems.
Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM).
Skills & Competencies
Ability to create, document, and execute test cases.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Knowledge of both manual and automated testing approaches.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum or Waterfall development methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
ISTQB or similar QA certification.
