Exciting opportunity to join our Technology, Media, and Telecom banking team

As a seasoned Investment Banking professional, you'll have experience developing strong relationships with corporates and financial institution clients and working across different products. You'll work on deals and transaction across the spectrum of our banking products, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises. This role is based in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) banking team based in Hong Kong.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior bankers in originating, structuring and executing financing and advisory transactions across various products including M&As, IPOs, bonds, loans and structured products
  • Develop content in marketing/execution materials for maximum client impact
  • Create financial models and detailed valuation analysis for pitches / projects
  • Interact with senior team members and client management teams to execute transactions and identifying and managing all risks in a given deal
  • Guide, review and coordinate the analytic work of junior bankers to move marketing / execution process forward
  • Liaise with internal and external parties on transactions (e.g. lawyers, accountants, counterparties)
  • Provide leadership and mentorship in guiding and training junior bankers and research analysts
  • Lead client negotiations, Q&A process and management interviews

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance/Economics or a related field from a top tier educational institution.
  • Prior work experience in an investment banking front office, or related role.
  • Fluency in Korean language skills to liaise with Korean speaking stakeholders
  • Strong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Understands transaction cycle and the steps in the process and is execution oriented.
  • Impeccable communication details with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other lines of business.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leverage FICC & Equities Franchise to grow revenues and expand the firm's market share in Fixed Income ETPs, particularly in ETPs locally listed in APAC

Fixed Income ETP Trading
: Candidates joining the Fixed Income ETP Trading desk are engaged in market making and primary creation/redemption in ETPs with investment strategies primarily focused on Fixed Income securities and derivatives. The desk provides liquidity to clients through a diverse suite of products and works closely with teams trading portfolios of fixed income securities, total return swaps on fixed income indices and both bond and index futures.

The desk looks for individuals with strong communication, both written and verbal, strong mathematical skillsets, programming experience, and who are motivated to build a regional business from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage FICC & Equities Franchise to grow revenues and expand the firm's market share in Fixed Income ETPs, particularly in ETPs locally listed in APAC
  • Risk management of locally-listed as well as US and EMEA FI ETF Trading positions across books
  • Pricing of ETPs with Fixed Income underlying across a variety of exchanges, market venues and investment strategies
  • Execution of ETP creation and redemption, building ETP issuer relationships and leveraging security inventory across Global Markets
  • Build up a deep understanding across asset classes and the drivers of profitability and the levers available for maximizing returns
  • Work closely with Strats, Sales, Structurers, Technology, Risk, Legal and Compliance, and Federation teams on enhancing the infrastructure and processes that support trade flow, risk management and book optimization
  • Develop an understanding of local market regulations and the legal underpinnings of the ETPs that we trade

Skills & Experience We're Looking For

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with an excellent academic record
  • Quantitative Background in market making/structuring/risk managing/modelling ETPs, experience trading Fixed Income products a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking and decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Effective stakeholder management skills
  • Capability to synthesize and dissect large amounts of information in a fast paced & dynamic environment
  • A strong work ethic with high levels of motivation
  • Understanding of funding and interest rates extremely helpful
  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative
