About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Manager to own the end-to-end quality strategy across web, mobile, and services. You will build and mentor a high-performing QA team including the SDET, elevate test automation, embed quality practices across the SDLC, and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to deliver predictable, compliant releases.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Strategy & Leadership
    – Define the QA vision, roadmap, and quality gates; champion shift-left, risk-based testing, and prevention over detection.
  • People & Vendor Management
    – Hire, coach, and develop QA/SDET talent; manage capacity, performance, and third-party QA partners against SLAs.
  • Test Management
    – Establish and maintain test plans for functional, regression, integration, UAT, and exploratory testing with clear entry/exit criteria and full traceability.
  • Automation
    – Set automation strategy (UI, API, integration/contract) and coding standards; drive flakiness reduction and sustainable coverage.
  • Non-Functional Quality
    – Introduce/scale performance (e.g., JMeter/k6), accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and basic security testing aligned to OWASP Top 10.
  • Release Governance & RCA
    – Lead release readiness, go/no-go decisions, and defect triage; run root-cause analysis for escapes and implement preventive actions.
  • Compliance & Data
    – Oversee test environments and data management; support relevant audits and standards (e.g., ISO 9001/27001, SOC 2, GDPR) as applicable.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    – Align with Product on acceptance criteria and risk; partner with SRE/DevOps on observability, rollback plans, and reliability goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years in Software QA/Testing, with 3+ years leading teams/projects.
  • Strong grasp of SDLC/Agile, test design techniques (boundary, equivalence, combinatorial), and risk-based testing.
  • Hands-on automation leadership with one or more frameworks (Playwright/Cypress/Selenium/Appium) and solid API testing (Postman/RestAssured).
  • CI/CD experience (GitHub/GitLab/Jenkins), version control (Git), and familiarity with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking (e.g., TestRail/Zephyr, Jira) and delivering clear quality dashboards/KPIs.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching abilities.

Preferred

  • Domain experience in (fintech/healthcare/e-commerce/SaaS/IoT) and microservices/contract testing (e.g., Pact).
  • SQL/data validation skills; scripting in JavaScript/TypeScript/Java/Python.
  • Performance, accessibility, and mobile (iOS/Android) testing expertise.
  • Exposure to security testing practices and compliance frameworks (ISO/SOC 2/GDPR).

The Department

Qualifications / What you bring

The Department The Service Delivery Department is responsible for designing and delivering the IT Digital Transformation Programme. The department also delivers application solutions including Finance, HR, CRM and Enterprise Data Warehouse systems for the Club’s business portfolios and manages the IT Shenzhen delivery arm.

The Job

You will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define test plans for all Systems Assurance testing activities for projects
  • Manage test projects’ risk and quality against the project scope, budget and schedules to ensure production availability and reliability
  • Be responsible for Test Project Management with the ability to manage test environments, team resources and stakeholders of multiple activities concurrently
  • Manage, maintain, and develop a high-performing test team to meet demand; ensure the adequate capability of staff to execute tasks
  • Drive automation as part of the overall test strategy to improve cycle time and product quality
  • Provide ongoing input to process improvement, such as the SA process, test environment management and release management
  • Participate and contribute positively to create a diverse and inclusive culture with trust and respect. Play an active role to support cross-team/division/department efforts and model collaborative behaviours
Qualifications / What you bring
  • Degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant disciplines
  • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in software/system testing, including at least 5 years in management roles leading teams
  • Experience in large-scale and complex systems environments and ability to deliver large-scale test projects on time and with quality
  • Detailed understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, quality assurance processes, methodologies and best practices
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); Cantonese and Putonghua are preferred
  • Solid working knowledge of Software Quality Assurance processes, methodologies, tools and best practices
  • Proficient in Test Management and Defect Management tools
  • Solid experience in leading a team of testers
