LABORATORY TECHNICIAN (PRODUCT TESTING)

Job Description:

• Perform physical testing on finished products of construction materials;
• Implement the quality of work according to ISO/IEC 17025;
• To calibrate and perform routine maintenance for testing equipment;
• Sampling of construction materials in plant;
• Implement safety policies set out by plant;
• Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• DSE or above;
• Self-initiative, responsible, well organized, and detailed oriented;
• Willingness to work and communicate as a team is a must;
• Hard working and being able to work under pressure;
• Knowledge of laboratory practices is an advantage;
• Weekend duties will be required.

Duties:

Required to perform medical laboratory tests and procedures according to the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP)

Handle and record the laboratory data for the reports and reviews

Carry out laboratory administrative work such as procurement, inventory control and documents filing

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in molecular biology, laboratory science, or biotechnology, or any related major.

With at least 2 years laboratory related work experience preferred.

Immediate available highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs microbiological analysis on incoming raw materials, finished products and other samples.
• Performs microbiological analysis on the production line samples to monitor the sanitation condition.
• Conduct equipment calibrations for laboratory & operation.
• Implementation of lab testing according to agreed quality system.
• Assist in maintaining quality system to fulfil ISO 17025 & GLP requirement & house-keeping in microbial lab
• Performs other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• High Diploma/ Higher Certificate or above in Microbilogy/Food Science or related disciplines.
• Possess laboratory testing skills with general knowledge on laboratory.
• Proficient in computer operations. (MS Word, Excel & Chinese Word Processing)
• Good written and verbal communication skill in Cantonese, English and Putonghua.

The Clinical Trials Centre (HKU-CTC) is a leading clinical trials management platform established under The University of Hong Kong LKS Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) and is dedicated to managing and facilitating international-standard clinical trials on new drugs, medical devices and medical technologies.  HKU-CTC offers long-term development opportunities to passionate talents who are devoted to a career in the clinical trial profession.

HKU-CTC's Biospecimens Core (BioCore) is a core facility for managing and processing biospecimens in clinical trials.  Locating at the Queen Mary Hospital, it is now supporting over 100 clinical trials.  BioCore is seeking talents who have the passion in promoting healthcare advancement through practising the laboratory profession in the clinical research domain.

Main Responsibilities:

• Handle and process biospecimens for clinical trials;
• Undertake pre-trial preparation, laboratory kits and consumables management;
• Perform Biospecimens processing, storage, packaging and shipping;
