The opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to transform wealth and asset managers, in response to the industry inflection point. We are looking for energized, motivated leaders with experience helping asset managers, wealth managers, alternative managers and asset servicers to transform the front, middle and back office of EY clients. Working closely with EY clients in large organizations; we understand what is important, offering points of view and advice, supporting them to make change decisions, navigating the development of these and bringing teams along with us. EY teams insights into industry good practice and how the asset and wealth management industries are evolving mean that we are the heart of strategic changes with EY clients across

  • Digital transformation
  • Growth and scalability, including into new clients, products, and distribution channels
  • Strategic cost transformation and operational efficiency

EY engagements span from strategic assessments, health checks, target operating model designs, system/ vendor selections and implementation of these initiatives.

Your key responsibilities

As a Manager within our Financial Services Business Transformation Consulting team, you will specialize in the Wealth and Asset Management sector and will work closely with our clients, and assist senior management in leading engagement teams, provide valuable insight and advice to support clients to make strategic and operational decisions about their business. You will contribute to the continued success and growth of the business and the practice, alongside some of the most highly regarded colleagues within the Financial Services industry.

As a valued leader you will be:

  • Delivering of mid-scale projects in the project team, assessing engagement risks, driving conclusions, and reviewing / challenging the output produced by the team
  • Designing, developing and implementing strategic and operational initiatives for our clients
  • Driving innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and lead in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements
  • Developing strong internal and external networks for long term relationships, managing EY accounts and to bring all of EY to clients
  • Establishing and building effective working relationships with peer-level clients as part of project delivery roles
Skills and attributes for success
  • Bring Wealth and Asset Management industry knowledge and experience to the client which they may not have access to internally
  • Proven delivery leadership and client service excellence in Wealth, Asset Management, Asset servicing, Hedge Funds and/or Prime Brokerage and/or relevant experience in Asia
  • Self-starter, with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confident and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment
  • Demonstrate expertise across engagement and practice teams
  • Always display excellent communication and presentation skills to people across all levels of an organization
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality of delivery
  • Comfortable and confident around senior stakeholders, internally and externally including presenting, leading meeting and working sessions
  • Extremely comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint. Much of our work involves detailed analysis and report writing, so it is critical you can work with these tools
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A successful track record of delivering project work in the Wealth, Asset or Investment Management industry, gained through experience working at a Wealth/Asset Manager, a top tier consultancy, a professional financial services consultancy, or a Wealth/Asset Management technology or service provider
  • Experience of working in consulting or a transformation role in financial services with deep sector knowledge and understanding
  • Strong business writing, presentations and stakeholder management skills
  • People coaching and mentoring experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of project and programme delivery
  • Deep understanding of current market trends in the Wealth & Asset Management industry and subject matter expertise in one of EY required segments – e.g.: Asset Management, Wealth Management
Ideally, you’ll also have
