Job Description
- Focus on transitioning machine learning models from development to business application with high performance, ensuring successful deployment of the models and integration into existing systems and infrastructure
- Collaborate with business users, developers, infrastructure team and relevant external parties to work on machine learning models that can meet the target business requirements and performance.
- Design and implement machine learning inference for running the models to work on live data and produce an actionable output efficiently.
- Prepare technical documents and reports.
- Participate in project meetings to report responsible tasks progress and follow-up actions
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Computer Science, Data Science or relevant discipline;
- At least 3 years of IT work experiences with minimum 2 years of practical experiences in deployment / performance tuning of AI models (for text analytics) and delivering complex data integration projects
- Knowledgeable in supervised machine learning algorithms particularly BERT LLM and LightGBM Random-forest model
- Proficiency in Python programming using essential libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, etc. Familiar with ONNX framework for model deployment and FLASK API python development are a plus
- Capable of design and implementation of web application using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Data / JPA and Oracle database is definite an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and presentation skill;,
- Good communication skill in both spoken and written English and Chinese.

We are seeking an expert to play a pivotal role in our medical engineering efforts. You will drive and shape the development of groundbreaking Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) products and leverage the power of artificial intelligence to revolutionize diagnostics, treatment, and patient care.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and development of AI/ML algorithm
- Focus on electrophysiology and brain-computer interface (BCI) data analysis and algorithms
- Apply your expertise in machine learning (especially deep learning) to develop, train, validate, and optimize algorithms for a variety of medical applications.
- Architect and develop SaMD products, with a focus on US FDA product registration (510(k), De Novo, PMA) and fulfilling international standards (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304)
- Employ software engineering best practices and adhere to relevant software development cycle standards
- Guide architectural decisions, technology choices, and development methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, clinical, regulatory) to ensure alignment
- Bachelor, Master or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Information Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on software development and AI/ML.
- Proven experiences in BCI related data analysis and algorithms
- Proven experience in handling brain-related electrophysiological signals such as ECoG, neural spikes or EEG as a plus
- 6+ years of experience in software development for medical applications, with 3+ years focused on SaMD and a proven track record of developing and deploying AI/ML algorithms in a regulated environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in machine learning, particularly deep learning, with hands-on experience using frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, R, and Java.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services relevant to SaMD.
- In-depth understanding of the medical device development lifecycle and relevant regulations (FDA or EU MDR).
- Experience with SaMD development, verification, validation, and regulatory approval.
- Knowledge of QMS principles and ISO 13485.
- Full-time / part-time, details can be negotiated
- Located in Hong Kong, or the Silicon Valley area in California in US

The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Program Management consultants lead clients through business transformations by implementing strategically important Mastercard assets and services to bring value and drive growth. They serve as the Center of Engagement across all stakeholders within Mastercard and the client’s organization.

You will manage multiple projects within a portfolio, providing efficient and effective coordination of a complex range of activities by clearly defining project team and stakeholder roles and responsibilities that are aligned with the delivery of the expected benefits. You will ensure effective identification of risks and pro-active solutioning to mitigate risks and impact on timelines.
Client Impact
- Manage deliverable development and workstreams on multiple large, complex high-value projects across a range of industries, problem statements, and cultures
- Utilize proven, accredited project and change management methodologies and techniques to help clients drive measurable value
- Define scope, timelines, and budget and perform cost, benefit, and risk analyses
- Report on issues, risks, progress, and timelines and summarize effectively, offering analysis, options, and credible solutions
- Manage working relationship with client managers, and act as trusted and reliable partner
- Develop sound business recommendations and deliver effective client presentations
- Plan, organize, and structure own work and that of junior project team members to address client problems
- Lead team and external meetings, and lead or co-lead project management
- Contribute to the firm's intellectual capital and solution development, being a strong brand ambassador for Mastercard and Data & Services
- Grow from coaching to enable ownership of day-to-day project management across client projects, and mentor junior team members
Basic qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with work experience in project management and change management methodologies and techniques
- 4-6 years of Project Management experience
- Exposure to financial institutions, payments, and/or consultancies
- Experience managing clients or internal stakeholders
- Logical, structured thinking
- Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with multiple clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and the local office language (if applicable)
- Eligibility to work in the country where you are applying, as well as apply for travel visas as required by travel needs
- Experience developing and implementing solutions and measuring impact on clients' business
- Experience coaching junior consultants
- Have completed or interested in pursuing recognized professional accreditation, such as Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Knowledge of Project Management tools
- Exposure to payments and/or retail banking or merchants
- MBA or master’s degree with relevant specialization (not required)
