As a Vice President in the Asia Finance Regulatory Reporting Projects team, you will have the opportunity to enhance your project management and business analytical skills while supporting strategic regulatory programs. You will collaborate with APAC Senior Financial Officers, Legal Entity Controllers, and Corporate Technology teams to implement strategic reporting platforms for local regulatory reporting and capital calculations. You will address local regulatory changes, business expansion demands, GL optimization, technology modernization, and global data alignment.
Job Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Finance users, Technology, and external vendors to deliver innovative regulatory reporting solutions, including process re-engineering.
  • Act as a product owner by partnering with business users and technology to prioritize the Book of Work. Prepare comprehensive Statements of Work, detailing objectives, scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, priorities, governance models, and agile sprint plans. Engage in design/build discussions with scrum master and technology team.
  • Manage project plans, deliver communications to stakeholders, chair governance calls, and provide updates at Project Working Group and Steerco meetings.
  • Lead business analysis efforts by gathering and defining business requirements (JIRA), ensuring a clear roadmap for successful projects. Conduct product validation/proof of concept, system Integration testing, and develop testing approaches, scopes, and plans.
  • Oversee ongoing tactical and strategic finance platform enhancements and automations.
  • Provide leadership to onshore and offshore teams throughout the project lifecycle, setting clear direction, driving performance, and fostering team development.
  • Gain insights into the regulatory banking and security regime in Asia, cultivating a process improvement mindset around finance regulatory reporting, expanding knowledge of SAP general ledger and product systems integration with BASEL/LRR, developing project management competencies and agile implementation
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or Information Systems.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 3 years in the banking industry.
  • Proven project management experience, in Finance Regulatory Reporting Solutions implementation, with successful execution of large-scale/multi-region projects.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide and develop onshore and offshore teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret large data sets and present findings concisely.
  • Self-motivated and be able to thrive in fast-paced environments, with strong time management and planning skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of data structures and database design.
  • Positive attitude and collaborative nature, delivering on high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex issues clearly.
  • Inquisitive, solution-focused, enthusiastic, diligent, and capable of challenging the status quo.
  • Proficiency in Confluence/Jira/Tableau/Alteryx/UiPath/Excel macro or digital accelerator tools.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
  • Experience in Basel risk implementation like SACCR or FRTB is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading regulatory reporting applications (e.g., Nasdaq (Axiom), WKFS, Reveleus).

  • Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support for all Financial Markets products and infrastructure (desktop, server, telephony, market data).

  • Assist in establishing business recovery sites to enable business transactions and monitor exposure during disasters.
  • Enforce global strategies and standards across all Financial Markets locations, ensuring compliance with risk, security, and procedural standards.
  • Conduct risk management, SIP initiatives, and technical audits, maintaining audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and enforce processes, guidelines, and procedures for installation, operation, and support of desktops, servers, network infrastructure, legacy systems, and email systems.

  • Support desktop environments, MS Windows, Office, Active Directory, email and messaging applications, telecom, trader voice, and market data systems like Bloomberg and Refinitiv.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s (or equivalent education qualifications) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
  • A minimum of 6 years of IT experience within SAP ABAP Development, including but not limited to S4 HANA, SAP BW, SAP Integration suite, etc. systems, in designing, developing, and implementing solutions
  • Must have worked on S4 HANA environment
  • Hands on experience on ABAP, Fiori, Workflow, OData services, CDS views, etc. is Must
  • SAP BTP hands on experience with Restful ABAP Programming (RAP), Cloud application programming is good to have
  • Must have knowledge on latest trends on clean core principles, side by extensions with BTP, etc.
  • Proven experience with SAP Implementation & Upgrade.
  • Experience with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum
  • Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Good understanding of technological concepts, trends and capabilities

Role Introduction
Reports to: Solution Lead
This role is part of the Solution Centre in our Information Technology (IMT) department who strive for continuous improvements so that we can provide you with a seamless experience with Cathay.
As the Solution Analyst, you will play a crucial role in translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications. You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive the end-to-end solution development of software applications, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, user-friendly applications which reflect Cathay’s vision to becoming one of the world’s greatest service brands.
With your expertise, skills and knowledge in solution delivery, you will be assigned to be part of our Finance solution team to work on systems which support all of our financial operations. Enabling you to gain exposure in financial operations that only a world-renowned airline can give.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse requirements and assess detailed solutions options from a system perspective
  • Support solution design and contribute expertise and detailed knowledge to ensure high level design decisions are able to be delivered
  • Full conversion, creation, alignment, traceability and successful mapping requirements into functional and technical specifications
  • To ensure requirements are mapped and documented to functional and technical specifications for software development projects
  • Contribute expertise in supporting the development of technical specification
