We are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead a large-scale Data Centre Migration programme. The successful candidate will have strong, all-rounded infrastructure knowledge (servers, networks, storage, virtualization, security and cloud), and a proven track record in delivering mission-critical migration projects within enterprise environments.

You will be responsible for planning, coordination and execution of the end-to-end migration strategy, working closely with Technology Operations, Infrastructure Architecture, Network Engineering, Application Owners and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the full lifecycle of the data centre migration project, from discovery and design through to execution and cut-over
  • Develop detailed project plans, migration runbooks and risk & impact assessments
  • Interface with Infrastructure Architects to validate target architecture design (network topology, firewall rules, load balancers, server builds, storage mappings, DR architecture)
  • Coordinate application dependency mapping and ensure all infrastructure & middleware requirements are captured (databases, messaging, monitoring agents, middleware components, backups, etc.)
  • Oversee the build and configuration of virtual and physical servers (Windows / Linux), network devices (firewalls, routers, switches), and SAN / NAS storage platforms
  • Manage implementation of VMware clusters, backup replication (Veeam / Commvault), and DR / failover setup in the new environment
  • Coordinate with the Network/Security teams to implement WAN connectivity, VPN tunnels, VLANs, ACLs and firewall rule changes in line with security standards
  • Work with the Cloud team on any hybrid migration components (AWS/Azure connectivity, direct connect, cloud landing zones)
  • Manage third-party vendors and integrators, ensuring deliverables are on time and aligned with internal standards
  • Schedule and coordinate UAT / migration rehearsals, dress rehearsals and production cut-over
  • Track project risks, dependencies and issues, and report status to senior stakeholders and steering committee

Requirements

  • 5+ years IT Infrastructure or Technology Project Management experience in enterprise environments
  • Solid knowledge across servers, network, storage, virtualization, backups and security
  • Proven hands-on delivery experience in data centre relocation / consolidation / migration projects
  • Familiar with VMware, Windows/Linux server builds, SAN/NAS, Cisco/Checkpoint network devices
  • Strong understanding of application dependency mapping, middleware stacks and DR environments
  • Knowledge of cloud / hybrid infrastructure (e.g. AWS/Azure) and integration with on-prem environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management, coordination and communication skills

  • Minimum of 8 years of direct, hands-on project management experience
  • Experience of project management on large scale IT systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, influencing and mediation skills
  • Certifications in Project Management (e.g. PMP) highly desired

Our Infrastructure and Government Advisory (IGA) team is looking to hire a consultant with at least four years of professional experience, primarily built around the development and delivery of major construction and infrastructure projects, with a specialist focus in project controls.

Background to the IGA team

The candidate will be joining the IGA team in supporting clients across the whole asset lifecycle, from initial project feasibility appraisal, procurement and financing strategy, delivery model design, contracting strategy, construction and asset operation. As a recognized market leader, we deliver lasting results to our public and private sector clients under three workstreams of services, namely:

  • Project, Program and Portfolio Management (P3M)
  • Strategy and Policy
  • Transactions, Economics and Finance

We are seeking a candidate to join our IGA team with experience in Project Controls, primarily within the P3M workstream, to address some of the most complex challenges facing infrastructure project delivery.

Our Project Controls services cover three core focus areas:

  • Delivery model strategy: We assess project complexity, client needs and strategic objectives to determine right-fit project/program delivery models, from traditional approaches to more integrated model such as integrated delivery partners and Project Management Office’s (PMO), to ensure that project/program delivery organizations are structured and set-up for delivery success.
  • Operating model design: We evaluate the project/program delivery capabilities required from a leadership, project management, functional and mindset perspective, to inform the design of tailored project/program target operating models and frameworks that enable the right environment and culture to exist to enable the change.
  • Project controls design: We broadly consider our client’s and their delivery partner’s governance, processes, data, digital and reporting processes and controls, and advise on the design of an effective project control environment that ensures the right decisions can be made based on assured data and insights throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Understanding of financial reporting and compliance standards relevant to large-scale projects.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks effectively, ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in effectively collaborating with clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Enthusiastic work ethic with a willingness to learn and engage in new areas.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. APM ChPP, APM PMQ/PPQ, PMI PMP, MRICS, MICE) preferred.
  • Business proficiency in both written and spoken English.

Background to the IGA team

The candidate will be joining the IGA team in supporting clients from initial analysis and project evaluation through to procurement, financial close, construction and operations under three workstreams of services:

  • Project, Programme and Portfolio Management (P3M)
  • Strategy and Policy
  • Transactions, Economics and Finance

We are seeking a candidate to join our IGA team primarily within the P3M workstream, to address some of the most complex challenges in infrastructure and the built-asset environment.

Our P3M workstream comprises three core areas:

  • Industry transformation: We advise government and public authorities on project delivery; providing strategic advice in procurement approaches; organization and delivery model design; commercial and assurance strategies; communication and promotion strategies; stakeholder management; capability and capacity assessments; project and programme controls; and PMO design and implementation.
  • Project delivery optimization: We advise private sector clients on transforming the way they deliver projects in the public and private sector. This includes assessing and optimizing project management frameworks, procurement, enhancing project governance structures and implementing best practices in project execution.
  • Digital and data transformation and High Productivity Construction (HPC): We advise on digital, technology and innovative construction recommendations that are transforming the construction industry and major programmes, including: Modular Integrated Construction (MiC); Multi-trade Integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MiMEP), and advancing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Your Key Responsibilities

You will deliver services across the lifecycle of public and private infrastructure, including:

  • Advising on the organization design and transformation for effective delivery
  • Developing procurement strategies at project or portfolio levels
  • Assessing client requirements for data and connectivity, recommending digital alternatives

Requirements: Skills and attributes for success

We seek candidates with a minimum of four years of professional experience, preferably in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience in construction or real estate as a Project Manager, Engineer, Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager
  • Experience in delivery or advisory roles within industry, government or a consultancy (major professional services firms, consulting practices or specialist firms)
  • Experience in delivering expert project, programme or wider industry transformation

We seek candidates with the following knowledge/ skills:

  • Deep understanding of the technical and management aspects of the infrastructure project delivery lifecycle
  • Familiarity with construction data sets such as schedule, cost, health and safety, environmental quality (HSEQ), contract, risk, and finance
  • Experience with digital tools and approaches in the construction and infrastructure sectors, including knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other data management systems
  • Experience in procurement processes and contract administration using contract forms used in Hong Kong (e.g., NEC)
  • Strong report writing, communication and presentational skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, curiosity and creative thinking
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams
