Job Responsibilities
- Provide market insights and recommendations to Abbott HK commercial team for long and short term decision making, specifically consumer segmentation, brand positioning, new product development, go-to-market strategy including TVC development and validation, pricing, shopper insights, in-store display optimization, brand KPI setting and monitoring etc.
- Report market and industry dynamics to Global, regional and local team, including macro environment, demographics, consumer behavior pattern and preferences, in HK and China, that will have both long and short term business implications to businesses
- Lead category market size and share forecasting (12- 24 months), with inputs from cross-functions
- Spear-head both ad-hoc and planned consumer research planning, execution and results implementation, and make objective commercial recommendations and/or suggestions for HK Abbott commercial team
- Support commercial team to optimize business potentials by executing research for making marketing claims
- Work closely across Consumer Insight team in China and Cross Boarder, also with cross functions in HK Abbott (marketing/sales/CRM/Professional sales/finance)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Consumer insight or Marketing research background preferred
- Minimal 8 years working experience in Consumer market research, advertising, and/or marketing experience. Cross-functional experience preferred. Consumer Products Goods or Health Products experience desirable.
- Energetic with strong communication skills with peers especially with senior leaders
- Good people management skills especially with cross functional alignment
- Analytical and attention to details
- Good command in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- Proficiency in PC applications on Excel and PowerPoint

Our work helps our clients set growth strategies and determines what products or services you ultimately see in the market and how our clients drive their marketing and trade strategies.
Working in this role, you will play a key role in the provision of strategic insight to our clients in the delivery of consumer research services by having a good understanding of their business issues and developing relevant consumer research solutions including integration across Nielsen’s IQ business units while building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for development of current client base and supporting the sales team in delivering sales target
- Work together with Business Development colleagues and independently identifying and addressing client’s business issue or project brief, proposing the right & relevant solution (i.e. type of consumer study, data collection approach, timeline and investment). This includes developing & presenting the proposed solution to clients
- Take lead on client engagement and maintain a relationship with the client with the aim to become a trusted advisor, thus gaining more business opportunities
- Maintain an accurate and up to date knowledge on research techniques and applications; eager to learn about value added analysis to properly answer client’s key objectives
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to think about client’s business and take concrete steps towards building knowledge about a key industry vertical OR Solution
- Manage a small team of researchers to coach and mentor both direct and indirect reports, developing & strengthening their competency skills
- Execute and deliver the project (end-to-end, from questionnaire development to reporting/analysis & verbal presentation) at the most efficient way without impact on the quality of your delivery
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, Master’s Degree desirable with 6+ years’ experience in a consumer research environment
- Well versed with Quantitative research, analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Excellent client management and relationship building skills and ability to converse with mid-level stakeholders in client organization
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint and/ or Google Spreadsheet & Slides
- Ability to draw insights and good story telling skills
- Good experience in market research project management, including liaison with internal operation teams
- Excellent in both spoken and written English and local language Chinese to manage local clients

- Familiarity with fraudulent and wasteful activities within claims, including experience in detection, investigation, and prevention.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices related to claims management.
- Relevant certifications in data analytics or insurance (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Associate in Claims) can enhance credibility.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and interact with various stakeholders.

- At least 3 years’ experience in claims processing, management, or technical roles within the insurance industry, particularly in life and health claims.
- Familiarity with fraudulent and wasteful activities within claims, including experience in detection, investigation, and prevention.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices related to claims management.
- Relevant certifications in data analytics or insurance (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, Associate in Claims) can enhance credibility.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and interact with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Customer Strategy and Analytics:
- Support the development and implementation of customer strategies aligned with business goals, translating business questions into quantitative analyses to guide decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth customer analysis to understand customer profiles, behaviors and trends, generating actionable insights to identify opportunities for customer growth and retention.
- Evaluate customer campaign performance by analysing key metrics and customer responses, providing business insights to improve campaign effectiveness and support test-and-learn initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc data analyses and support related projects as required.
Power BI Dashboard Development and Monitoring:
- Define relevant KPIs and key metrics for Customer Dashboard and CRM Dashboard to measure business performance and progress.
- Design, develop, maintain and enhance dashboards to track key customer metrics and CRM campaign performance, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
CRM Campaign Targeting:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine customer segmentation and targeting criteria for CRM campaigns.
- Identify opportunities to expand the CRM reach and improve campaign targeting strategies.
- Support in data extraction and preparation for CRM campaign targeting efforts.
Fostering a Data-Driven Environment and AI Adoption:
- Provide data support to promote a data-driven culture within Marketing department for the purpose of deriving business insights.
- Stay updated, explore and recommend AI and emerging technologies for CRM and data analytics.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related subjects
- 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in financial services or consulting firms focusing on CRM, data and analytics
- Proven experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and data mining tools (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate insights effectively to business stakeholders
- Attention to detail, self-motivated, proactive, and with a positive attitude
- Experience with Databricks and Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus
