The Account Manager will proactively manage a portfolio of existing health insurance plans for direct business. You will retain and grow our business in line with agreed targets and deliver these targets with the highest level of customer care. Through regular and positive contact, you will uncover business opportunities through referrals from your own portfolio. How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • To manage all aspects of the Individual members/ accounts assigned to you, including retention, expansion, pricing discussion and debt management
  • To deliver the highest level of customer care to include taking ownership of day-to-day client account issues, ensuring best practice process are always adhered to, liaising with the appropriate areas of the business to resolve and, if appropriate, communicate back to third parties
  • Ensure your product and service knowledge is always current and up to date to correctly educate/train your members and consultatively sell our product
  • Attending regular face to face or Microsoft Teams meetings with your members, providing an excellent service and building relationships.
  • Work directly with members within your portfolio ensuring that ‘win-win solutions’ are reached and agreed for both the customer and for Bupa Global
  • Uncover information through strong relationship building that will help further the position of Bupa Global in the marketplace
  • Develop a strong business relationship with your nominated members and keep the customer always informed
  • Renew the policies on a timely basis
  • Always maintain the highest quality and service standards in line with criteria set by Sales Management team, Regulators and Compliance
  • Regularly and accurately update all member records ensuring that data provided can be used for quality and factual purposes in line with Regulations
  • Ensure that necessary administrative tasks are undertaken within set deadlines
  • Build professional and lasting relationships with team colleagues and other departments within Bupa Group, maintaining open communication channels to promote the International Telesales Team in a positive light and assess opportunities to obtain sales leads
  • Manage administrative tasks alongside phone calls by effective time management
  • Planning and prioritising of workloads to ensure e-mail and telephone service level agreements are achieved
  • To be a champion of change and always display a positive attitude towards colleagues and tasks performed
  • Constantly analyse, improve and develop sales techniques through sales training, seminars, self-analysis and coaching. To actively participate in sessions to maximise knowledge and ability putting new skills into practice
  • Keep updated on the competitor activity and products, sharing all new information with colleagues
  • Ability to competently deal with complaints and escalate when necessary

Key Skills/Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Account management and sales experience essential
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skill
  • Experience of managing a portfolio and face-to-face contact with customers is essential
  • A high standard of technical and product understanding of Bupa Global products is desirable
  • Additional language would be an advantage
  • To have a good geographical knowledge, demonstrate global mindset and awareness of differing cultural drivers and an appreciation of differing time zones
  • Self-motivated, articulate and numerate with good computer skills across all Microsoft applications
  • Ideally to have some experience of the Healthcare Market.
  • Proven Sales/Account Management experience in Insurance industry

  • Solution selling: use the WITY methodology and your own intellectual curiosity to understand the strategic issues and priorities affecting your clients; apply to new sales and retention work
  • Relationship management: establish and develop meaningful relationships with key buying centers in each customer; maintain a relationship map for each account
  • Value positioning: deliver quality proposals and propositions to customers, to address their specific requirements; adopt an “outside-in” mindset and a consultative approach to selling

About The Team

This team is responsible for the sales of IP products in the Hong Kong region, including API interface raw data. The team size is 5 people, working closely with pre-sales and after-sales, data, product and other teams internally, developing new customers and serving old customers externally, to improve regional performance and customer satisfaction.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

  • At least 5 years’ sales related working experience, preferably in IT / Telecom industry
  • Able to apply well-developed knowledge of account management in selling wide range of products and services within assigned industry or territory
  • Good knowledge of IT/ Telecommunications products and services will be an added advantage
  • Excellent account servicing, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic and result-oriented
  • Strong inboth spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Account Executive

Job Description

To support our business growth, we are looking for an energetic and self-motivated candidate to join our Hong Kong team.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
• Proactively promote chronic and acute dialysis products to Hospital and Dialysis Centre
• Achieve sales targets for assigned accounts and expand our business portfolio
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with our clients, partner and patients to gather timely market feedback for management review
• Collaborate with different departments to provide pre- and after-sales service and roll up sleeves for new products and service launch


Qualifications, Experience and Characteristics Required:
• University graduate in Science subjects, Registered Nurse, or other related education
• 2-year or more sales & marketing experience working in healthcare / medical products industry is highly preferably
• Good team player, strong desire to succeed, result-oriented
• Customer centric, Energetic, mature, self-motivated and independent
• Strong interpersonal & presentation skills and Project management
• Demonstrate expertise in product and therapy knowledge
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
• Proficient in MS Office
