Job Description
As General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the company. You will act as the licensed Responsible Officer under the Insurance Authority, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards. Your role includes overseeing financial planning, driving business development, and maintaining operational excellence. You will represent the company in dealings with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders, while fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field, along with a recognized insurance qualification such as ACII or ANZIIF. You should have at least 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 5 years in a senior leadership role within a brokerage firm. Eligibility to be approved as a Responsible Officer by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority is essential. A strong track record in business development, deep knowledge of compliance standards, and fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are also required.

Responsibilities:
- To partner with relationship managers in total client relationship building and financial planning propositions
- To serve clients in complete scope of insurance products, namely whole life savings plans, universal life, endowment plans, retirement planning and general insurance, etc.
- To lead and support the branch sales staff to achieve the insurance goal
- Degree holder with at least two years of insurance product sales experience and proven track record
- HKSI Paper 1, 7 & 8 or equivalent plus IIQE Paper 1, 2, 3 & 5
- Certified Retail Wealth Professional (CRWP) is preferred
- Proactive and result-oriented with strong selling skills
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and knowledge of Mandarin preferred
- Good relationship building and communication skills

What you do
- To provide on-site sales support for insurance business
- To enhance the insurance selling skills of the frontline sales staff
- Collaborate with insurance product team to support the on-going insurance sales activity and product launch
- Support Branch Manager on exploring life insurance business strategy from branch portfolio
- Provide coaching to branch sales staff in life insurance business
- Conduct joint call with branch sales staff to facilitate the selling and close deal
- Host workshop/clinic to uplift sales performance of individual sales staff
- Enhance the knowhow of salespersons on AML, compliance and regulatory related items
- University degree in Finance, Economics or related disciplines
- 8-10 years banking experience in retail life insurance business sales/coaching
- Pass in HKSI and IIQE Licensing Examinations
- Preferably with CRWP, CFA or CFP qualifications
- Strong sales driven, result-oriented with good communication skills
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English, Chinese and Putonghua

Our Hong Kong Insurance Team provides advice to global Insurers and their Insureds across a wide spectrum of classes of insurance but with a particular focus on Financial & Professional Lines and Property/Casualty business. Most of its work consists of advising on coverage and defence of high-value, complex disputes frequently with an international dimension.
We are looking to recruit ideally a 3-5+ PQE Hong Kong-qualified lawyer to join the Team and support our drive to become the go-to Insurance firm in the region. The right candidate will gain exposure to a wide variety of cases, client contacts and working closely with senior lawyers management- whilst working in an environment that provides a large degree of autonomy and an excellent work/life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing caseload and/or supporting Partners and colleagues on larger complex insurance claims.
- Analysing and applying legal principles and facts to derive technically sound, commercial strategies for complex cases and insurance policy issues.
- Drafting and reviewing correspondence, reports and litigation documents.
- Maintaining caseload in good organisational shape and in accordance with client quality and service level agreements.
- Developing an understanding of the client's, and our wider business, and how the two fit together.
- Demonstrating strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ideally a 3-5+PQE Hong Kong-qualified lawyer with Financial Lines and/or Property Casualty experience, ideally defendant and policy coverage work (although we remain open to those with a broader insurance background).
- Fluent in Cantonese and English - preferably be able to converse in Mandarin too.
- The ability to run your own caseload and work in an autonomous fashion.
- Strong academic record.
- Capable of analysing and applying legal principles to a complex factual scenario, with a view to achieving a commercial resolution for the client.
- Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues.
- The ability to think and act quickly and under pressure for clients who find themselves in crisis.
- Team oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.

+ To partner with relationship managers in total client relationship building and financial planning propositions
+ To serve clients in complete scope of insurance products, namely whole life savings plans, universal life, endowment plans, retirement planning and general insurance, etc.
+ To lead and support the branch sales staff to achieve the insurance goal
**Qualifications:**
+ Degree holder with at least two years of insurance product sales experience and proven track record
+ HKSI Paper 1, 7 & 8 or equivalent plus IIQE Paper 1, 2, 3 & 5
+ Certified Retail Wealth Professional (CRWP) is preferred
+ Proactive and result-oriented with strong selling skills
+ Fluent in English, Cantonese and knowledge of Mandarin preferred
+ Good relationship building and communication skills
