Investment Accounting Lead.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Primarily prepare general financial and regulatory reporting for book closing including daily ledger review and reconciliations, liquidity reporting and regular submission of financials to group aligned with accounting policy
- Perform an impact assessment of any new local or global rules
- Ensure that the business is operating in compliance with external regulations and internal group finance policy
- Assist other departments and the business to ensure no breaks between front office systems and reporting
- Recognize fee income and make provisions at appropriate times
- Produce business analysis
- Perform a critical review of new products or business initiatives raised, update accounting mapping to facilitate new bookings and ensure provision of sufficient resources for system testing
- Prepare / review journal entries for which front office system cannot directly feed into ledger
Requirements
To be successful you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Solid knowledge in insurance business, accounting, reporting and finance systems and technologies are highly preferred
- Qualified member from any recognizable professional accountancy bodies (e.g. ACA/CPA etc.) is preferred
- Strong business mind-set together with analytical and problem solving skill
- Good interpersonal, communication skills with confidence and competency to deal with senior business managers/ offshore team members
- Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and changing priorities
- Excellent team player, able to lead others into action, and with ability to work under minimal supervision, fluent written and spoken English and self-motivation
