Our growing team is looking for a Team Lead - Data Lab at Hong Kong This is an entry-level position in development teams' management to create opportunities for leadership growth in the management career path. We are accepting application for a new team lead. This will be a great opportunity to get meaningful management experience while staying close to technical/hands-on work.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and cultivate a high-performing cross-functional team, focusing on talent acquisition, engagement, and professional growth.
  • Provide technical advice to their team members responsible for technical work and studies (Risk Assessment, Data Extraction/Enrichment, Natural Language Processing, process optimization and other data science techniques and models).
  • Implement and refine tools and processes to boost team autonomy and efficiency, while providing necessary training and coaching.
  • Formulate appropriate recommendations after analyzing and reviewing analysis produced by team members to improve the performance of products and services
  • Support management team to help implement strategy, priorities, and actions
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders outside the team to facilitate delivery
  • Manage the evaluation, development and coaching of their team members to achieve the strategic objectives of the company, while creating a highly engaged workforce, where employees contribute to the success of the team and company
  • Coordinate their team's activities by organizing, planning and controlling the work.
  • Actively participate to the execution of the team projects and mandates.
  • Oversee the day to day of junior members and interns of a small team; coordinate, plan and monitor their activities.
  • Oversee AI-centric projects, aligning with the organizational strategies, priorities, and constraints.
  • Ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders outside the team to facilitate delivery
  • Represent the the data lab function in various working groups/committees and act as a point of contact with other business units
  • Ensure solutions meets client expectations and comply with security and governance standards, while optimizing impacts and infrastructure requirements.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience, with at least 3-5 of those years leading a team focused on AI driven projects and data management for model training and deployment.
  • Strong leadership skills, with intellectual curiosity and drive to align technical expertise with business needs to deliver value.
  • Experience in coaching and developing technical teams, providing inspiration and fostering growth.
  • Proven ability to manage and execute AI projects effectively, delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Excellent knowledge of MLOps; AI/GenAI models.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality management concepts.
  • Team player who fosters collaboration and creativity in an open and honest environment.
  • Passionate about talent development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Comfortable working in evolving complex environments and multidisciplinary teams.
  • An agent of change, motivated to question the status quo.
  • No Hong Kong work experience required however must be eligible to work in Hong Kong
