We are looking for a talented Application Developer to join our Digital Team whose primary role is to design, create, and maintain user-friendly digital products that meet the needs of the Company. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement and maintain Web based and/or mobile applications and services
  • Utilize technical knowledge and programming skills to develop user-friendly web applications with both front-end design and back-end functionality
  • Ensure system, database and architectural design meet project requirements and are responsive, secure, and scalable
  • Conduct R&D on AI & innovative technologies to explore new opportunities
  • Support program testing, troubleshoot and resolve any issues that occur during development and deployment of systems
  • Integrate web applications with multimedia content and other OUP applications/products
  • Help enhance internal/production workflow by automating tasks and processes

About You

  • Higher Diploma or Degree in Computer Science / IT or related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in React app development
  • Experience with TypeScript and knowledge in application programming languages like Java, Flutter, Rust, Python, etc. will be an advantage
  • Proficient in using GitHub for source control;
  • Experience in MySQL / MongoDB
  • Knowledge of cross-platform development is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of AWS/Azure cloud technology is preferred;
  • Good understanding of OOP, design patterns
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

  • Provide regular and effective progress updates to Application Managers and Project Managers, addressing delivery risks or issues proactively.
  • Partner with data team and stakeholders to design robust data models and architectures that align with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to deliver actionable insights.
  • Configure or apply changes on applications if necessary to meet the project requirements.
  • Define and ensure the software quality standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, processes, configurations.
  • Assist to define the development framework under agile approach and work with all team members to follow the same methodology.

Qualifications, Training and Experience

  • University degree in software engineering, information technology, computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing data pipelines.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing small teams or projects.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning and managing resources in Cloud environments (Azure / GCP)
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration in secure, networked environments.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Scala.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Understanding of Azure networking concepts, including VNET peering, private endpoints, and network security groups (NSGs).
  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Kafka) is a plus
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) for provisioning resources is a plus
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in agile project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good command in English and Chinese

The Company

Our client is a leading Fintech platform seeking a Application Support Engineer to join their client support team. This role requires a seasoned professional with strong client-facing experience and technical proficiency to handle functional and technical client inquiries. The successful candidate will report directly to the C-Level and work within a collaborative team environment.

The Role

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to clients, addressing functional requests and resolving technical issues promptly and professionally.
  • Engage directly with clients, primarily from investment banks and private banks , ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Write and execute SQL scripts to support client queries and troubleshoot issues.
  • Operate within a Linux environment to perform basic system tasks and support client systems.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of client-facing experience in a support role, ideally providing L1/L2 support for functional and technical client inquiries.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting for querying and troubleshooting.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux environments for system navigation and task execution.
  • Open to candidates from any industry ; banking or financial services experience is not mandatory .
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment and adapt to a fast-paced, client-driven setting.
  • Comfortable working shift hours between 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM.

  • Be one of team leaders of our Testing team in providing testing services for application development / enhancement / maintenance of our large-scale, mission critical IT projects in Pension Industry.
  • Define the detailed test plan for the assigned testing functions and to ensure all testing collateral produced, such as Test Cases, Test Results and Status Reports meets defined quality standards
  • Work with Platform Architect to monitor the healthiness of the testing platform, by means of regular manual health check and with assistance of Test Automation technology
  • Prepare test cases and test data according to system analysis and design documentation.
  • Perform Quality Control and Testing in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Support test planning activities, such as effort and resourcing estimation
  • Participate in bug triage to articulate bug impact, severity and priority
  • Report and follow up issues according to the methodology defined in the project

The Person:

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7 years working experience in Testing in large scale development projects, which 3 years in team leader role
  • Possess business knowledge and application testing experience in Pension industry
  • Possess experience in Application Lifecycle Management tools such as Micro Focus ALM and Jira
  • Possess knowledge in Test Automation for web and mobile application will be an added advantage.
  • A team player with good analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Good in verbal and written communication in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Positive attitude, fast-learning, energetic, able to perform in challenging environment;
