Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) running a total of 19 degree, sub-degree and diploma programmes in several disciplines.  It has a student population of over 4,000 in 2024/2025.

Part-time Research Support Assistant, School of Arts and Humanities (696)

Duties

The appointee will provide support to a research project "The Institutional Habitus of a University of Applied Sciences in Hong Kong: The Case of Tung Wah College". Duties include collecting and analyzing data; reviewing literature; preparing publications and reports; providing general administrative support and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Applicants should possess a sub-degree or above. He / She should have a good command of written and spoken English, good experimental skills, a strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform all initial specimen preparation
• Responsible for specimen receipt and distribution
• Pack and distribute laboratory consumables to collection centres
• Manage storage and disposal of processed specimens
• Responsible for patient registration, specimen collection and all related administration duties
• Responsible for results entry and report typing
• Responsible for scheduling send out specimens to reference/ other laboratories
• Perform other laboratory duties as assigned by bench in-charge/ MLTs

Qualifications

• High Diploma or above with related science discipline
• Shift duty is required (no overnight shift)
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
• Good telephone manner
• Responsible and hardworking with good initiatives
• Candidates with solid laboratory experience will be considered as Technical Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist medical technologist carry out laboratory tests
• Conduct equipment maintenance and calibration
• Liaise and troubleshooting with clinic and clients
• Clerical duties such as reports preparation and data entry

Requirements:

• Fresh graduates, DSE or have higher education in biological sciences or related disciplines
• Proficiency in PC knowledge including Microsoft Excel, Word and Chinese Word Processing
• Hard working, perseverance and patience
• Immediately available is preferred
• Comprehensive training will be provided

Working Hour:

• 42.5 hours (5 days) per week
• Monday to Saturday: 9 am to 6:30 pm or 10:30 am to 8:00 pm
