Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the School of Clinical Medicine and the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 532766) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences Education, Computer Science or a related discipline, with a keen understanding of the practical application of technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), in tertiary education. They are expected to have a proven record in successfully employing educational technology for teaching and learning activities, and show demonstrated ability in collaboration with other teachers to determine, design, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and solutions. A track record of publications in educational journals would be an advantage. The position offered depends on the level of expertise and years of teaching experience – at least 10 years for Senior Lecturer and 3 years for Lecturer.
The appointee will contribute to the development and teaching of courses on the impact of AI in healthcare, as well as other related subjects in Biomedical and Health Sciences in our undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes. He/She will also take a leading role in developing and implementing various pedagogical initiatives utilizing the state-of-the art educational technology on the Faculty level. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable for Senior Lecturer.

Major Duties :
The appointee shall report to the Programme Leader and Head of Department and engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Digital Transformation programme. The Programme aims to develop students’ understanding and capability to become digital transformers, manage transformation and innovation in the current business environment. The Programme offers two specialised streams, one in ‘Digital Business and Leadership’ and the other in ‘Digital Technology and Innovation’.
The appointee will need to fulfill teaching duties, including but not limited to, the preparation of teaching materials, development and marking of assessment items, and the delivery of lectures and tutorials for at least one of the following modules:
- Digital Business Process and Operations
- Global Business Environment
- Cyber Security in Business
- Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Business Intelligence and Analytics
Requirements :
The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Information Technology; Digital Transformation; Digitalization and Digital Innovation, or related disciplines, with at least 4 years’ relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in the related fields. S/he should have experience in supervising students’ Final Year Projects, and have high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua. S/he must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(b) Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above of which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Mainland China or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Achieved at least Grade 2 Level B in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) - Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Commission on Language Work.

The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Rural ILP Coordinator, will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and advancing rural medical education. The role is responsible for coordinating the Independent Learning Project (ILP) program, supporting rural research initiatives, and contributing to the academic education program at the campus.
Working closely with the Local Health District and Primary and Rural Health Networks to progress research initiatives and ILP projects relevant to local area health issues, the position supports the teaching and service missions of the Rural Clinical Campuses. The role reports to the Rural Clinical Director, ILP and Research Collaboration, with a dotted line to the Director of Medical Education at the designated campus and has no direct reports.
Skills Required
At Level B
- A BMedMD, MBBS or equivalent medical degree with relevant professional expertise and eligible for medical registration in NSW.
- Evidence and maintenance of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and professional accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching in biomedical sciences, clinical medicine and/or related health discipline including development, delivery and course convening at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- A strong commitment to rurally focussed teaching and research to improve patient and local health care outcomes.
- A track record of successful interaction and involvement with relevant authorities, professional organisations, research and training institutes and health networks.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver high quality and innovative teaching and research outcomes, and an exceptional student experience for rural students.
- Evidence of strong leadership skills and a record of solid achievement contributing to administration in academic and professional environments.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- undertaking course planning and development;

Those who are appointed to this prestigious specialism will be expected to successfully drive educational excellence within the university’s teaching and learning communities.
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Rural ILP Coordinator, will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and advancing rural medical education. The role is responsible for coordinating the Independent Learning Project (ILP) program, supporting rural research initiatives, and contributing to the academic education program at the campus.
Working closely with the Local Health District and Primary and Rural Health Networks to progress research initiatives and ILP projects relevant to local area health issues, the position supports the teaching and service missions of the Rural Clinical Campuses. The role reports to the Rural Clinical Director, ILP and Research Collaboration, with a dotted line to the Director of Medical Education at the designated campus and has no direct reports.
Skills Required
At Level B
- A BMedMD, MBBS or equivalent medical degree with relevant professional expertise and eligible for medical registration in NSW.
- Evidence and maintenance of professional development in pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and professional accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching in biomedical sciences, clinical medicine and/or related health discipline including development, delivery and course convening at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
- A strong commitment to rurally focussed teaching and research to improve patient and local health care outcomes.
- A track record of successful interaction and involvement with relevant authorities, professional organisations, research and training institutes and health networks.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability and commitment to deliver high quality and innovative teaching and research outcomes, and an exceptional student experience for rural students.
- Evidence of strong leadership skills and a record of solid achievement contributing to administration in academic and professional environments.
