We are hiring an Engineering Manager .

This role is an opportunity for a technologist with a passion for Linux and Cloud technologies to build a career with Canonical and drive the success with those leveraging Ubuntu and open source products. If you have an affinity for open source development and a passion for technology, then you will enjoy working with some of the best people in the industry at Canonical.

The BootStack team designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers. From Kubernetes to OpenStack and everything in-between, you'll be working with the latest technology in a fast-paced engineering environment. As a Cloud Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you will be responsible for managing the engineers that oversee day-to-day Managed Service of customer environments, including customer service management, managed services operations and consistent product improvement engineering. Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is critical to success.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

The role entails

  • Manage a growing engineering team to optimise the quality and velocity of both development and operations
  • Identify and measure team health indicators
  • Implement disciplined engineering and operations processes
  • Represent the BootStack team with respect to stakeholders, customers, and external teams
  • Ensure proper team focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
  • Work to meet service level agreements with customer deployments around the globe
  • Deliver quality managed services in a consistent, timely manner

What we are looking for in you

  • Bachelors (or equivalent) education in a technology field
  • Proven track record of professional experience of either software delivery using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or similar and/or managing operations teams
  • Proven experience with OpenStack
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code quality
  • Experience with Linux system administration, Ubuntu/Debian a plus
  • Strong communication and cooperation skills
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies
  • Experience working in and managing distributed teams
  • Technical aptitude for understanding complex distributed systems
  • Experience with cloud topologies and technologies
  • Travel to team and company events and customer meetings, roughly 20% or less

Service Line Overview

KPMG Managed Services brings together the firm’s subject matter expertise, proprietary technology and tools and deep operations capability to provide an innovative and cost effective solution for clients seeking to outsource either a one-off remediation or an ongoing BAU process. We operate across multiple industries, geographies and processes and have particular experience in complaint handling, claims processing and client due diligence.

Business Analyst required to join KPMG Managed Services Change team. While this role will focus on technical and operational change, the scope of the work covers the complete SDLC across development in finance divisions. We are looking for a Business Analyst with solid understanding of banking

operations and financial products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and functional groups to establish project scope and define business needs for platform upgrades.
  • Conduct business analysis, prepare user stories, define workflows, and provide recommendations for process enhancements and system upgrades.
  • Manage stakeholder communication throughout the Change Request lifecycle to ensure progress updates and timely issue resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including plans, requirements, test scripts, and implementation strategies.
  • Partner with Technology Architect and development leads to design and implement technology platforms aligned with business requirements.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams, maintaining the projects' roadmap and milestones.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder involvement.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, ensuring alignment with quality standards and business objectives.
  • Conduct business analysis to identify process improvements and optimization opportunities.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to design, develop, and enhance solutions combining system, data, and digital tools to address business needs.
  • Provide support for the Finance systems to ensure smooth operation for end users.


Experience & Background

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with hands-on involvement in Business Analysis on large Digital programs in a fast-paced MNC or startup environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication Skills, with proficiency in both English and Cantonese languages.
  • Previous experience working with clients in the BFSI sector would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to work with data-driven insights while maintaining a user-centered approach.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Proficiency in assessing and implementing digital tools and technologies such as cloud platforms, data analytics, and automation tools.

3.Stakeholder Management:

  • Liaise between central participating firms and network firms.
  • Support onboarding of network firms onto the managed services platform.

4.Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality control measures.
  • Conduct periodic assessments to ensure delivery meets standards.
  • Track and report on KPIs.

5. Resource Management:

  • Manage allocation of resources within the managed services team to meet demands.

6. Collaboration and communication:

  • Collaborate closely to ensure governance, compliance, and managed services are aligned.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing.

7. Project management

  • Assist in creating and maintaining the business operations, ensuring alignment with timelines and deliverables.
  • Track and report on progress, risks, and dependencies.
  • Support leadership in preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies
  • Escalate high-priority risks for resolution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • More than 3 years of experience in Managed Services, operational process analysis, business analysis, or roles within a COO office at financial institutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting languages such as Python, Terraform, or Ansible

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, and prioritize tasks effectively
