The Role

This role will oversee all aspects of the finance and business control function for Growth Markets and take up the strategic and operational bridging roles between the Group Finance Function and the respective teams in local markets. This role is responsible to drive for full spectrum finance activities covering timely and pertinent business planning, business control, financial reporting, financing, management reporting ensuring local tax and regulatory compliance to support the growth of portfolio.

This role is critical to the business unit in facilitating growth, efficient operations and profitability while ensuring business & financial control and compliance; and to support the company and business through finance and structuring issues during its growth phase.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement financial strategies and structures aligned with the BU's growth objectives
  • Lead annual budgeting and business planning in Growth Market BU, collaborating with other department heads to ensure efficiency and profitability of the budget and business
  • Monitor budget change; forecast and analyze variance to foster long-term financial planning processes in Growth Markets BU
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage the flow of funds for completion of new acquisition/project finance and debt drawdowns
  • Lead debt raising and refinance initiatives and build long term relationships with lenders
  • Support treasury management especially in relation to liquidity and funding requirements, settlement processes, foreign exchange controls, and compliance with complex regulatory environments.

Business Control & Performance Management

  • Establish and maintain effective business control frameworks and KPIs and facilitate business decisions through accurate, timely and quality data/dashboards
  • Continually analyse impact on potential returns to investment portfolio
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to track KPIs, project economics, and sustainability metrics
  • Continuously improve reporting processes and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and relevance
  • Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions
  • Partner with operational leaders to drive cost efficiency and profitability
  • Manage banking facilities in different regions

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for the business unit
  • Ensure timely and accurate and insightful financial and operational reports to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Group Finance to ensure alignment reporting standards and timelines while compliance in different regions

Management Reporting

  • Develop and adapt management reports to evolving business needs
  • Responsible for quality of regular management reports to the Board
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making

Tax & Audit

  • Develop the tax strategies that align with the business unit's financial and operational goals taking into consideration of CLP group's tax positioning
  • Ensure full compliance with local, regional and international tax laws
  • Manage tax planning for new projects, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions to optimize tax efficiency
  • Lead the coordination and execution of internal and external audits for the business unit, including all the overseas establishments
  • Facilitate tax payment and tax filing
  • Maintain company entity listing and work with internal business partners to update compliance register

Investment Review & Support

  • Supervise and conclude results of financial & tax due diligence of potential investments
  • Identify financial and business risks; work with BD team to propose mitigation suggestions
  • Work with BD team and group functions to foster effective collaboration and reviews

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and audit requirements
  • Ensure loan compliance e.g. track and monitor Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR).

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and control team with succession planning and cross-functional collaboration
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation

Administration

  • Contract management of key service providers; tax agents, accounting firms, audit firms, others.

Requirements

  • A recognized university degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline with a relevant working experience in investment banking, direct investment, finance & commercial management in sizable multinational company / project management entity management consulting in the energy / production sector
  • Fellow member of HKICPA or equivalent professional membership
  • At least 20 years' experience (preferably in energy industry) with minimum of 10 years' senior managerial role
  • Experience in the renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilities sector is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, analysis, and control frameworks
  • Knowledge in statutory and accounting requirements in Taiwan and SEA
  • Able to articulate financial matters to different target audience
  • Good commercial acumen and strong initiative to adapt to a changing business environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Candidates with less experience maybe considered for a less senior position

  • Strong analytical mindset, business acumen, and ability to influence stakeholders
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English; additional languages and P&L experience are a plus

Job Duty

·Scheduling meetings with new or potential clients

· Build up good relationship with key clients

· Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively

· Understand the product packages and advise the optimal packages accordingly 

· Prepare contract and invoice for clients and consolidate campaign information

· Coordinate with Administrative Department for listing creation and update

· Monitor campaign progress and update clients accordingly

· Organize and implement sales strategies

General Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, HR, IT or related disciplines
  • 3-4 years experience in Food Tech / Startup / relevant positions
