About the Team
The APAC Payment Rails Product Solutions Specialist (PSS) and Commercialization team is responsible for driving the commercialization and the end to end solution design of payment rails products (payments and collections) for Corporate and Non-Bank Financial Institution clients in APAC. The team is responsible for delivering the APAC Payment Rails revenue collectively with the payment rails product management team.
About the Position
The team is now looking to have an experienced payments professional join as payables and receivables PSS based in Hong Kong covering Hong Kong and China region. The PSS will be responsible for client engagement, solution design, commercialization, and pipeline management of payment rails products that J.P. Morgan delivers in APAC, and particularly in China/Hong Kong region. The PSS will be acting as the voice of the customer by understanding their needs, analyzing and communicating feedback to the Product teams. On the other hand, he/she needs to target clients, assure that the value of payments product capabilities is tailored to them, and accelerate payments revenue realization. The PSS will influence the investment roadmaps to represent client needs, and help with the commercialization of new investment by increasing client adoption and building a strong pipeline. The role requires extensive collaboration with clients, Sales, Advisory, Product Managers, Client Onboarding and Service, and interacts with other payments product teams including global clearing, cross currency, digital channels, account services and liquidity, blockchain, etc.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as a subject matter expert on a defined set of products and capabilities with a deep understanding of our clients' needs and current industry trends. Leads solutioning and the adoption of existing and upcoming products while configuring optimal solutions.
- Partners with corporate bankers and treasury sales to proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, understand client buying and usage behavior, and the impact of regulations on their decisions. Actively drive RFP responses by being instrumental in delivering client pitches at a regional/global level and identify key areas of opportunities through active client engagement.
- Leads client/deal pricing discussions that strategically balance the pursuit of volume opportunities with the achievement of revenue targets, ensuring that pricing strategies are competitive yet profitable.
- Serves as market expert for regulations and market trends; ensure understanding of the risk attributes of different rails products, the client segments, and how the solutions are being used.
- Markets APAC payment rails offerings via active participation at external events and industry conferences, organizing and delivering seminars, webinars and presentations.
- Provides subject matter expertise to further the knowledge of sales teams by designing and delivering customized training.
- Helps drive commercialization of new product launches by proactively identifying and locking in pilot clients; Spearhead the development and launch of targeted sales campaigns.
- Maintains an accurate and up-to-date pipeline, collaborating with sales and business management teams to ensure all information is current; track pipeline opportunities and proactively work with sales to advance the pipeline.
Experience and requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or equivalent
- Minimum 7-8 years of treasury management experience in a client facing function such as corporate banking, fintech or eCommerce product/sales and preferably in payments
- Demonstrated track record in understanding and marketing/executing payments solutions in APAC
- Familiarity with market and industry trends including regulatory changes impact the treasury services industry, and technological advancements such as blockchain
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills. Mandarin language is essential.
- Able to work under stress and demanding deadlines; able to manage a diverse set of stakeholders
- Creative problem solver, capable of developing innovative and differentiated solutions
- Execution-oriented self-starter who is proactive and able to deliver in efficient and effective manner; demonstrates experience of operating successfully within larger cross-functional organizations
- Prior client management experience a plus
