The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Component and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies.
It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Job Responsibilities
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):
- To conduct research, design, development, and testing of power electronics hardware / embedded software solutions for green power including solid-state transformer, EV charging, PV inverter, battery storage system, DC microgrid applications, and etc.
- To conduct DSP/MCU/FPGA programming for power converters control and modulation design and implementation
- To conduct sample build, laboratory electrical / thermal testing and field support
- To conduct literature and market review on products, patents and research papers
- To assist project proposal preparation and presentation
- Working location is in Hong Kong; occasionally work at Futian office
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned
- Bachelor degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines with 6 years of experience
- Master degree with 3 years of experience, or Ph.D. degree in related area
- Good applications knowledge of power converter/ inverter electrical design; ST / TI DSP; wireless communication modules such as Bluetooth, WiFi for power electronics converter related control and communication applications Hands-on experience in laboratory soldering and electrical testing work
- Good written and communication skills in English
- Strong team spirit and interpersonal skills; independent, responsible and outgoing character
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Lead Engineer

Contract Period: 2-Month Contract
ADMS is a real-time control computer system that will monitor and control the distribution power network of CLP Power Hong Kong. It will be a state of the art system designed to meet the Company’s goals of Digitalization, Decentralization and Decarbonization.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the appointee will undertake the following major duties:
Key Responsibilities
- Support Senior Engineer to handle technical issues of ADMS development, including Windows system administration, local area network installation, firewall installation, development of simple in-house software such as automation tools and testing of ADMS in factory overseas
- Arrange training classes for end users, and handle other software works assigned by the Project Manager such as testing and verification
- Prepare documents to support operation and maintenance activities, and to meet the requirements of CLP Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Standard and Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Standard
- A recognized university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related disciplines
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering of IT / OT systems, or Windows system administration, or other relevant software works. Candidates with less experience including fresh graduates will be considered as Assistant Engineer
- Proficient in software programming, network design, computer system implementation and administration
- Good problem solving skills and strong analytical abilities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with good spoken and written English
- A fast learner with ability to work independently and meet tight deadline

Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Metering Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. Reporting to the Meter Reading Supervisor, the appointee is required to manage below major duties:-
Major Duties include
- Plan, schedule and enhance the meter reading order management and route plan so as to complete the daily meter reading assignment efficiently, effectively and safely
- Manage on site metering duties including meter data retrieval/upload and answering customer enquiries
- Detect & report meter and wiring abnormalities to the reporting operation center for follow up actions
- Provide technical support for supervisor to carry out smart meter inspection program and UAT tests for system upgrade, advanced metering infrastructure deployments, new ERP migration etc
- Be the company ambassador to provide responsive, professional and value-added services to exceed customer expectations in metering aspects
- A minimum of 5 passes in HKCEE including English (Syllabus B) or Level 2 or above in 5 subjects in HKDSE including English Language, or equivalent
- At least 2 years’ experience in performing outdoor works
- Mindful and have good safety awareness
- Ability to communicate in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Customer-oriented, energetic plus pleasant personality
- Possession of a valid driving license (Class 1, 2 or Class 1a/2a) will be an advantage

Job DescriptionContract Duration: Long-term / Two-year contract
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and control all security systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm systems, etc., and take appropriate actions according to operational procedures, such as notifying relevant personnel or initiating emergency protocols.
- Regularly test monitoring and alarm systems to ensure proper functioning, and report any system faults or technical issues promptly.
- Record all security-related incidents, including alarms, system failures, security breaches, and prepare detailed reports.
- Assist supervisors in developing work procedures and training new staff to ensure familiarity with their roles.
- Perform other tasks assigned by supervisors, such as handling daily administrative duties, security audits, risk assessments, supporting project management, and participating in departmental planning activities.
- Shift work may be required, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications:
- Relevant security, business, or management certification/diploma or equivalent; a university degree is preferred.
- At least three years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of one year in team management.
- Valid security personnel license and Hong Kong driving license (Category 1) preferred.
- Proficient in Chinese (including Cantonese) and English communication skills.
- Computer literacy in office applications.
- Responsible, good interpersonal skills, communication, and supervision abilities.
- Strong security awareness.
