We are seeking an experienced and visionary product leader to head the development and management of life insurance products that integrate across diverse markets. This role is central to driving innovation, strategic alignment and customer-centricity in our product portfolio, supporting our mission to enhance financial wellness and healthy living across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and execute a regional product strategy that aligns with the company’s vision of holistic wealth and health solutions.
  • Lead the development of differentiated products, including investment-linked policies, protection riders, HNW solutions, and wellness-based incentives tailored to consumer needs.


Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with local market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to ensure sound pricing and risk management.
  • Establish & lead a centralised Group HNW Product management unit for the development of product solutions and proposition for HNW segments, with localisation for the different markets.


Market Intelligence & Innovation

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis across key markets
  • Identify emerging trends in health tech, digital wealth platforms, and customer behavior to enhance our product value proposition and providing value-added services.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with group and local teams in distribution, marketing, digital, operations, Health to ensure successful product launches and adoption.
  • Engage with regulators, reinsurers, and strategic partners to support product approval and market entry.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Health, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in life insurance product management, with a strong track record in wealth and/or health product lines.
  • Proven leadership experience in regional or multi-market roles.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and consumer preferences across different markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with HNW, wealth, protection (including riders), investment-linked solutions, or health platforms.
  • Familiarity with insurtech innovations and digital ecosystems.
  • Multilingual capabilities and cultural fluency across the region.
  • Passion for improving customer well-being through integrated insurance solutions.

The analysis will include both fundamental and relative value analysis across issuers, maturities, and currencies. You should have strong written and verbal skills and be able to communicate your views to portfolio managers and analysts, across Hong Kong, Shanghai, London and New York.

Job responsibilities

  • Build bottom-up fundamental research and relative value analysis on a group of corporate credits across multiple sectors under assigned coverage.
  • Perform fundamental sector analysis and be conversant in factors driving performance of the industry and constituents.
  • Develop relative value opinions on covered credits and be able to present views in discussions with portfolio managers.
  • Recommend relative value ranking for each sector and issuer covered.
  • Publish concise and well-structured research notes on issuers under coverage on regular basis.
  • Coordinate credit and relative value views, including relative value across currencies, with counterparts and portfolio managers in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai and New York.
  • Interact with company managements, sell side analysts (debt & equity), and rating agency analysts.
  • Attend industry conferences and other investor meetings as appropriate.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • 5 years+ of Emerging Market corporate research experience, on the buy-side with a proven track record or with a top-tier sell-side institution.
  • Strong fundamental credit analysis and financial modelling skills.
  • Solid understanding of relative value analysis and factors influencing credit spread performance.
  • Understanding of key ESG drivers for the sectors covered.
  • BA/BS/MBA or equivalent.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) in English.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Team player.
  • Excel, Word, Power Point and Bloomberg.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Experience covering / investing in multiple corporate sectors in Asia across investment grade and high yield issuers.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) in Chinese.
  • CFA or progress towards achieving.

Job Description

As a Vice President, Product Development, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support the team head in overseeing the full product development lifecycle-from contributing strategic insights aligned with regional and global objectives to managing and resolving post-launch issues.
  • Participate in product design aligned with business strategies across both local and international markets, and implement initiatives to drive product innovation and growth.
  • Coordinate product initiatives by collaborating with key internal stakeholders, including the investment, risk management, compliance, sales & marketing, and finance teams, as well as external service providers, to ensure successful product launches and ongoing management.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of the product suite, such as introducing new share classes or adapting to regulatory changes.
  • Review and streamline existing workflows to improve the efficiency of product development and operational processes, ensuring readiness for new or enhanced product offerings.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory developments that may impact product launches or the existing product range, and communicate relevant updates internally.


The Successful Applicant

A Successful Vice President, Product Development Should Have

  • Bachelor's degree or above, with substantial experience in the asset management industry.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product development.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing fund structures across various jurisdictions.
  • Broad knowledge of investment products, including equities, fixed income, alternatives, quantitative strategies, and ETFs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven project management capabilities with a track record of delivering results.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
