Join us to apply for the Accountant (Projects) (1-year contract) role at Hong Kong Trade Development Council .
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (“HKTDC”), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic and high-caliber professional to join our Finance & Accounts Department.

Responsibilities:
- Handle receipts and payments and prepare bank reconciliation statements.
- Assist in the preparation of final accounts and annual budget estimates.
- Prepare regular reports including monthly projections and quarterly budget reports with variances analysis.
- Prepare regular cashflow forecasts and foreign currency requirements.
- Undertake ad hoc assignments assigned by management.
Requirements:
- University graduate or recognized accounting qualification.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in professional firms or commercial organizations; less experience may be considered for Junior Accountant roles.
- A quick learner, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.
- Strong logical sense with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Responsible, meticulous, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in written English and Chinese.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems is an advantage.
- Immediate availability is highly preferred.
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis, renewable based on operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive, plan and direct all IT project activities to ensure that project objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters
- Analyse and review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, sourcing approach, delivery method, dependencies, procedures for accomplishing projects, negotiate staffing requirements to various project phases
- Cross-teams and cross–department collaboration with stakeholders to drive business and technology innovation to achieve business unit’s strategic plan and business objectives
- Manage the dynamic project team of individuals. Provide thoughtful leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project life cycle
- Manage Delivery of over $150M and 100+ Schedule Maintenance projects to provide sustainable Operations
- Actively foster a continuous learning and cross-team knowledge sharing culture among project delivery groups
- Collaborate with Project Practice Manager to improve project management practices across all IT projects. Drive and implement necessary standard and best practices for project management and ensure compliance
- Communicate and escalate risks and issues clearly and concisely and to support management with the preparation of action plans. Provide on call support, as project required
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology and project management practices, ensuring timely exploration and proactively communicate IT’s position towards the introduction of relevant / key emerging technologies
- Proactively coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
- Degree holder in Information Technology, Business or related area
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 5 years in project management role. For an Assistant Project Manager minimum of 5 years of IT experience
- Proven experience in managing projects with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to medium projects in a cross-functional environment
- Detailed knowledge of the following disciplines: project and program delivery, portfolio management, application development management, infrastructure development management, vendor management, service transition and cutover planning
- Technical proficiency in hardware and system software, as well as experience implementing packages and working with vendors
- Project management related certification such as PMP
- Proven experience in managing OPEX Cost/Budget management
- Project Manager need to have knowledge in Operation capabilities and IT Service Delivery functions that sustain and improve customer experience of IT Services.
- Proven experience in managing large scale SAP transformation project in Finance and Procurement

We are working with a leading insurance organization that is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Finance Transformation team. This role will focus on coordinating reporting across multiple projects involving Finance and Actuarial teams, managing senior stakeholders, and overseeing contract negotiations for transformation initiatives.
IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR A BIG 5 Director from the Advisory team who is ready to move in-house.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management within the insurance or Big 4 consulting industry and experience driving complex cross-functional projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Coordination and Reporting:
- Lead the coordination and consolidation of project reports across multiple workstreams within Finance and Actuarial teams.
- Develop and maintain clear reporting frameworks to monitor project progress, risks, and deliverables.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication of project updates to senior stakeholders and leadership.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, Actuarial, IT, and external vendors.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communications, aligning expectations and ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
- Facilitate regular status meetings and issue resolution discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Lead contract negotiations with vendors, consultants, and other third-party service providers to support project delivery.
- Ensure all contracts align with project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Monitor compliance with contract terms and manage any disputes or amendments as needed.
- Project Governance:
- Establish and maintain robust governance structures to ensure project alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Identify and mitigate risks, managing dependencies across multiple projects.
- Ensure adherence to project management best practices, tools, and methodologies.
- Collaboration with Finance and Actuarial Teams:
- Partner closely with Actuarial teams to understand their data, modeling, and reporting requirements.
- Work with Finance teams to ensure alignment on deliverables, particularly in regulatory or compliance-related initiatives (e.g., IFRS 17, Solvency II).
- Support integration efforts between Finance and Actuarial systems to ensure seamless operations.
- Project Management Expertise:
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in project management, preferably within Finance, IFRS 17 or Actuarial Transformation projects.
- A proven track record of managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
- Experience coordinating reporting across multiple projects or workstreams is essential.
- Industry Experience:
- Strong familiarity with the insurance industry, including Finance and Actuarial functions.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as IFRS 17, Solvency II, or equivalent is a plus.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience negotiating contracts with third-party vendors and ensuring compliance with terms.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of finance and actuarial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Prophet) is desirable but not mandatory.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation purposes.
- Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
