Bloomberg News is seeking a Team Leader in Hong Kong to manage and edit a team of graphics reporters in Asia and work closely with newsroom editors in the region across coverage areas. In addition to the graphics team in Asia, you'll be collaborate with a team of graphics editors and reporters in London and the US.
Your curiosity and enthusiasm for core Bloomberg coverage areas - finance, markets, economics, geopolitics, among others - and your eagerness to engage with reporters and editors of those areas will put you at the center of our coverage of the most important stories in the region. Collaboration with newsroom colleagues is critical to ensuring that our team's contributions to newsroom coverage are well coordinated and timely, and that we are involved early in stories with high data and visual storytelling potential.
You'll also identify opportunities for graphics and visual narratives that help readers understand events as they evolve, and inspire data visualization reporters to create clear and informative graphics and visual stories on a range of topics and deadlines. Relying on your sound news judgment, refined design sensibilities and technical knowledge, you'll edit charts, maps and graphics, as well as ambitious, data-driven visual narratives.
You'll assign stories - and inspire reporters to generate ideas for graphics and visual narratives - that push our coverage forward, and you'll deliver clear, actionable feedback as you edit. We value editors who lead by example and pitch in to ensure we publish on deadline. Most of all, we'll expect you to be a supportive manager - as eager to share your own ideas as you are encouraging of others - who finds reward in elevating and refining the work of the team.
Prior editing or management experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates eager to transition to an editing and management role who can show an extensive background creating news-driven data visualizations and leading collaborative projects are encouraged to apply.
**We'll trust you to:**
+ Assign, shape and edit graphics and narrative data visualizations
+ Collaborate with regional beat reporters and editors to develop graphics and data visualizations
+ Work with Data Visualization team members to develop and execute their own story pitches
+ Deliver feedback on how to communicate effectively through graphics
+ Work efficiently under varied deadlines
+ Possess interest in topics core to Bloomberg News coverage - including finance, markets, economics and government policy, among others - and an eagerness to develop subject-matter expertise in these areas
+ Support graphics reporters on the team, both by listening to their ideas and helping them achieve their development goals
**You'll need to have:**
+ At least 5 years of professional news experience in a role that edits or produces graphics and data visualizations for publication on a variety of deadlines
+ Strong communication, project management and other leadership experiences that allow you to effectively edit, lead projects and collaborate with editors across teams in the newsroom
+ Experience conceptualizing and structuring visual narratives and writing copy
+ Strong sense of visual design with solid understanding of layout, typography and user experience and familiarity with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud
+ Experience evaluating data sources and assessing data reporting
+ Experience in front-end web development using modern HTML, CSS and JavaScript and rendering graphics in the browser
+ Fluency in both spoken and written English
+ Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization

- Provide support to overseas finance teams in daily accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions in accordance with accounting principles.

Job Description
- General ledger to source reconciliation, and work along with other team members on financial accounting and controls duties;
- Month-end closing, preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for posting to ledger;
- Ensure proper reconciliation of inter-companies accounts with affiliates and to investigate any discrepancies noted;
- Analyze material variance on the financial results in the course of month-end closing process, and provide input to team members for explaining the variance;
- Prepare schedules and reporting package to fulfil group reporting requirements;
- Preparation of financial disclosure and annual reports and other financial disclosure
- Support internal and external audits and review of financial statements
- Participate in Finance projects to take initiative on driving changes in workflow and processes
- Prepare HKMA regulatory returns and provide inputs for other returns if necessary
- Participate into banking return automation and various system enhancement projects
- Perform assessment on the regulatory reporting treatment for current / new products and business
- Bachelor degree holder, preferred with major in Accounting, Finance and Business Administrations;
- Qualified accountant preferred;
- With three to five years work experience in financial institutions or banks audit at CPA firms
- Growth mindset to aim at development personally and contribute to the team
- Ability to work under pressures and multi-tasking
- Attentive to details and accuracy and drive for process efficiency

Finance & Accounting Recruiter | Financial Services | Insurance | Commerce Finance | Audit | Risk & Compliance | Finance Operations | FP&A |…Our client is one of the largest global insurance companies, looking for a Senior Officer responsible for financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual statutory filings to regulatory authorities.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing processes.
- Handle accounting entries and perform account reconciliations.
- Assist in enhancing systems and workflow procedures to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with external auditors during year-end audits and manage audit-related requests.
- Provide support on ad-hoc assignments as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in the insurance industry.
- Candidates with more experience may be considered for the Assistant Manager level.
- Strong communication skills in English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of IFRS17, IFRS9, SAP, or RBC is a strong advantage.

Position ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Manager, Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Asia Investment Operations team, responsible for managing all aspects of Fund Accounting, Fund Financial Reporting, and Tax matters across the Company's Investment Fund platforms, including but not limited to:
- Assist with audits of managed funds, pension funds, QFII, SPVs, etc., and other BAU matters (Management fees, Trailer fees, Fund expense management, etc.).
- Review existing processes periodically to identify improvements and ensure the operating model governance remains current and accurate.
- Develop and execute a roadmap to address gaps and implement process/policy improvements for better collaboration and efficiency within the wider Operations group (e.g., promoting synergy between pension fund and other Asia platforms).
- Support and lead new projects with a focus on automation.
- Advise on Fund Accounting workflows to standardize processes across Asia to enhance efficiency.
- Review processes for standardization and automation opportunities, engaging with external service providers like fund administrators, custodians, and tax advisors.
- Assist with annual tax compliance and the implementation of tax processes across Funds in Asia.
- Handle internal control tasks, support tax-related projects, audits, and remediation of tax audit issues.
- Provide support on tax aspects such as withholding tax documentation, tax treaty benefits, GST reclaims, and tax implications of new products and seed capital.
- Support the Fund NAV process by implementing rules (e.g., tax provisions, withholding tax liabilities) and overseeing tax reclaims from various jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with external tax agents, ensuring compliance with tax obligations, policies, and regulations.
- Stay updated on financial, tax, and accounting developments in Asia and communicate relevant impacts to stakeholders.Required Qualifications
- University degree with recognized professional designation in accounting.
- 7+ years of experience in financial reporting for investment funds, preferably with Big 4 firms.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/HKFRS/Lux GAAP and regulatory reporting for investment funds, including tax issues (Luxembourg, Cayman, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc.).
- Familiarity with tax laws and upcoming regulatory changes in key Asian jurisdictions (Singapore, Hong Kong, India, China, Malaysia, etc.) is an asset.
- Knowledge of Net Asset Value calculations, fund accounting practices, dividend distribution, and fee calculation.
- Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills, with experience negotiating and influencing stakeholders.
- Excellent command of English and Chinese (preferred).
- People-oriented personality with strong communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to diverse audiences, including senior executives.
- Minimal travel required.
