Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning and ensure consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints.
  • Campaign Development: Create and execute innovative marketing campaigns that resonate with target audiences and drive conversions.
  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
  • Digital Marketing: Leverage digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and e-commerce, to enhance customer engagement and drive online sales.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity and accountability.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
  • Teams Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and customer service, to align marketing effort with overall business objectives.
  • Marketing Analysis: Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics to assess effectiveness and optimize strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in marketing at multinational retail companies with international exposure.
  • Extensive knowledge of China retail market dynamics.
  • Candidates with experience in global fashion retail brands, or consumer goods are preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, ideally as a CMO or similar leadership position.
  • Demonstrated expertise in brand management, public relations, event planning, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Excellent in English & Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese.)

HQ Group Marketing is seeking highly skilled and experienced AVP/Senior Manager, Retail and Product Marketing . As a key member of the team, will play a pivotal role in driving the development and growth of Shangri-La Group’s luxury retail and product offerings. This includes identifying opportunities, sourcing premium products, launching new lifestyle retail concepts, and managing end-to-end execution across retail channels.

This role requires an experienced individual with a strong background in F&B retail and a proven ability to curate product lines across F&B, wellness, personal care, and home lifestyle categories (in launch priority). The ideal candidate will also serve as a primary point of contact for F&B product marketing and will be responsible for marketing strategy and execution that supports brand elevation, guest engagement, and incremental revenue.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Identify and evaluate luxury product and sourcing opportunities across F&B, wellness, personal care, and home lifestyle categories, ensuring brand alignment with Shangri-La’s premium positioning.
  • Benchmark best-in-class F&B retail concepts to guide product development and merchandising strategies.
  • Develop pilot concepts including shop-in-shop layouts and customer journey maps to support retail space development.
  • Source, brief, and brand partners to co-develop or white-label exclusive products that reflect Shangri-La’s brand values.
  • Approve prototypes and manage pilot production timelines for new retail product lines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless rollout and retail execution across channels.
  • Drive marketing strategy and execution for new product launches, campaigns, and seasonal promotions, particularly focusing on F&B retail products.
  • Analyse sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to refine offerings, improve guest engagement, and optimize revenue potential.
  • Develop strong vendor relationships to ensure timely, quality-assured, and cost-effective delivery of products.
  • Prepare and present performance reports and merchandising insights to senior management, making recommendations for improvement and growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product development, merchandising, or sourcing, ideally within premium F&B retail or high-end hospitality brands.
  • Strong understanding of luxury consumer behaviour, particularly in the F&B and lifestyle sectors.
  • Proven experience in launching retail concepts, developing in-store experiences, and managing multi-channel retail strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing execution with the ability to lead integrated campaigns that drive sales and elevate brand perception.
  • Skilled in managing partnerships, product prototyping, and pilot production.
  • Excellent negotiation, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Able to thrive in a matrixed organization, collaborating across regional teams and business units.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and merchandising or retail planning tools.

  • Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Define and evolve the long-term Retail Media strategy, ensuring alignment with company-wide priorities and growth targets
  • Commercial Planning & Business Cases: Build business cases for new revenue streams, partnerships, and commercial models using data and financial analysis
  • Market & Competitor Insights: Conduct deep market research and competitive benchmarking to identify whitespace and guide positioning
  • Client Strategy & Advisory: Support sales and client teams with strategic input, pitch development, and advisory client engagements
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain client relationships, shaping their Retail Media strategy and identifying upsell opportunities
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate across Product, Tech, Ad Ops, and Data to translate strategic plans into executable initiatives
  • Thought Leadership & Enablement: Create internal playbooks, thought leadership, and sales enablement materials to position DFI-Q Media as a Retail Media leader

Do you have experience in Strategy Planning?

  • 4–8 years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or business development
  • Master's degree in business, finance or marketing; MBA degree preferred
  • Past consulting experience in digital marketing, digital transformations within the retail / consumer goods sector is preferred
  • Excellent PowerPoint presentation skills required – being to develop clear and well-structured storylines and present complex data into visually compelling graphs for senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, with experience developing data-driven recommendations and business cases
  • Experience developing advanced excel models including business plans and financial projections
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; able to align and influence key stakeholders and senior management teams across the group
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and sufficient level of maturity to present to senior management
  • Preferred/Bonus:
  • Understanding of the MarTech and AdTech ecosystem (e.g. RMN platforms and CMS solutions like Criteo and Flipkart, Google Marketing Platforms, Salesforce, Braze, Meta, TradeDesk) is a strong advantage
  • Experience working on product launches, media monetization strategies, or data-driven marketing
  • Retail media experience and industry expertise
