Service Line Overview
We support organizations and executive teams in defining their ambition and developing innovative strategies that embed the agility, customer-centricity and operational excellence needed to thrive in dynamic markets. - Growth strategy: identifying and implementing a prioritized set of growth platforms that will enable clients to achieve their growth ambitions
- Operating strategy & cost: challenging strategic decisions and align their operating model to their business strategy and financial targets
- Digital strategy: consider the new opportunities created by emerging technologies, and evaluate their readiness to adapt to change
- ESG strategy: assists to set and achieve ESG goals, to embed ESG into an organization’s DNA, and make ESG sustained competitive advantage for the organization
- Enterprise-wide transformation: provides the overarching framework for multi-year strategic planning, capital allocation, portfolio and synergy assessments, scenario planning, corporate centre redesigns, and other modularized enterprise-wide services
Key Responsibilities
- Design and run workstreams or small projects with limited oversight
- Support wealth & asset managers in market analysis, strategic reviews, transformation projects, including project management, business model review and design including implementation
- Generate hypotheses and drive the storyboarding process
- Produce client ready deliverables that require limited review
- Data and analytics review, including basic financial modelling
- Develop solutions to complex problems and challenge the thinking of more senior colleagues and clients
- Liaise effectively with clients whilst working on engagements and act as an ‘ambassador’ for KPMG
- Develop rapport and working relationships with junior clients and maintain them outside of engagements
- Be a strong and effective team player
- 4-8 years of relevant experience in any of the below:
- Consulting experience with leading strategy houses
- Big 4 experience with a focus on asset management
- Product Management role within an asset management firm
- Regulator experience, focused on asset management
- Degree from a leading institution
- Strong slide structuring and writing capabilities
- Evidence of project management/workstream leadership
- Knowledge of wealth management operations
- Research skills, including market research and regulatory review
- Project experience in regulatory / operational / TOM-like projects
- Project management certification and knowledge of Agile delivery will be an advantage
- Analytical mindset, intellectual curiosity, structured thinking, and creativity
- Confidence, people skills, ambition and pragmatism
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese

You are:
A professional who has experience working with Financial Services organisations (including Banking, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, Financial Market Utilities, etc.). You are excited to leverage your experience to transform Financial Services organizations; working across the C-suite to capitalize on disruption, enable competitiveness, and drive growth and profitability via continuous innovation.
The work:
- Support the day-to-day execution of consulting projects and ensuring successful delivery of client requirements within the scope of the engagement (e.g. execute activities according to agreed deadlines and quality requirements).
- Respond promptly to engagement demands and anticipate critical actions for successful initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property, including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches.
- Support business development efforts, building understanding of how to architect and position proposals and statements of work.
- Engage with macro industry (Banking, Wealth and Asset Management, Insurance, etc.) trends, competitive dynamics, and disruptors (fintech, digital, AI, etc.) to generate thought leadership and innovative new ideas to respond to evolving industry challenges.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to Analysts to help develop their consulting skills, including sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback, and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow.
- Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Financial Services organizations (Banking, Capital Markets, Wealth Management, Asset Management, Insurance, Financial Market Utilities (e.g., Payments, Exchanges, etc.) or private investors with one or more of the following areas:
- Growth Strategy and Business Model Transformation
- Pricing and Revenue Optimization
- Distribution and Sales Effectiveness
- Mergers & Acquisitions (portfolio review, due diligence, synergy, post-merger integration, etc.)
- Performance Improvement/Cost Re-engineering/Offshoring
- Data, Platform and Technology Modernization

- Strong problem-solving acumen leveraging quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; proven ability to derive insights from large volumes of unstructured information to solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.
- Team player who can excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and challenging work environment.
- Proactive in seeking knowledge and staying updated on project management tools and methodologies.
- Exceptional Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- MBA or any other advanced degree is preferred.

Job DescriptionAs a Consultant, you will support the delivery of our programmes, whilst building your career around like-minded professionals that strive to implement market-leading practices for our Hong Kong office. Given the global nature of our firm, you will support clients from all around the world, typically focusing on Insurance, Financial Markets, Private Banking and Asset & Wealth Management.

This will involve:
- Participation in projects with leading banks and Financial Institutions.
- Typically work with a team of 2-5 consultants
- Contribute to the implementation and execution of clients’ projects.
- Develop impactful solutions by analysing data, formulating hypotheses and communicating with stakeholders.
- Transforming data into meaningful insights and solutions

As a Senior Consultant, you will help to build our expertise and guarantee the quality of delivery to ensure market-leading practices for our Hong Kong office.
