Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take the responsibility of implementing all elements of Environmental, Health, Safety and Quality ("EHSQ") management system in entire business operations especially the engineering activities on construction sites. The primary responsibilities include:
- To manage and supervise all safety issues
- To lead and monitor the safety teams
- To monitor the implementation of Safety Management System in accordance with company EHSQ policy and legislative requirements
- To ensure compliance with local safety regulations and corporate and project requirements
- To establish and review safety standards, procedures and training programs

Requirements:

- Registered Safety Officer with HK Labour Department with min. 8 years post-registration experience
- Min. 5 years MTR railway project experience (3 years of which is a senior safety officer or safety manager level in project is preferred)
- Knowledge of Railway systems like Signalling is an advantage
- Registered Safety Auditor with HK Labour Department is an advantage
- Qualified auditor / internal auditor in ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 9001 is an advantage
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Strong problem solving, time management and team building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Chinese Word Processing

Senior Health and Safety Manager (Ref IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) plan, organise and manage laboratory and research safety related programmes (e.g. research safety, occupational hygiene, dangerous goods, controlled chemicals, chemical wastes, etc .);
(b) foster and maintain strong collaborative relationship with stakeholders and promote a safety culture;
(c) conduct inspections, audits and assessments of research/teaching laboratories and other supporting units;
(d) interface with regulatory agencies;
(e) assist in formulating, handling and reviewing emergency response plans for laboratory-related accidents or incidents, and carry out investigations;
(f) plan and deliver health and related training; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his delegates.
The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours and/or outside Hong Kong occasionally or when necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree, preferably with a master's degree or above, in Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Occupational Hygiene, or related disciplines;
(b) at least eight years of solid and relevant post-qualification experience at supervisory level, preferably gained in tertiary education sector and/or in laboratory environment;
(c) relevant professional qualification(s) in occupational hygiene or safety (e.g. RPH, CIH or COH);
(d) a good knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and standards;
(e) excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills;
(f) good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities; and
(g) effective communication skills and a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
Conditions of Service
