Summary
This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end technical consulting services, with a focus on solution certification, system integration, HID Origo SDKs, APIs, and secure deployments. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to partners, ensuring that partner and enterprise solutions are validated, optimized, and production-ready.
As our Technical Consultant , you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Assist clients with integration of Mobile SDKs (Android & iOS) and Origo APIs.
- Collaborate with developers to implement or review new features and ensure alignment with certification criteria.
- Perform technical audits, interoperability testing, and security assessments.
- Provide hands-on guidance during deployment, troubleshooting, and optimization phases.
- Document technical requirements, validation outcomes, and best practices.
- Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Security, Support) to ensure consistent delivery standards.
- Lead technical validation of partner and solutions for Solution Certification.
- Conduct developer enablement sessions and workshops when needed.
- Stay updated on platform changes, emerging technologies, and certification frameworks.

Education
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, BSc computer science or a related field.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in technical consulting, solution engineering, or software integration.
Language Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English and Mandarin languages, both verbally and in writing. Any other regional language is a bonus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, mobile app development (Android & iOS), and cloud platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and client interaction skills.
- Experience with tools such as Postman, Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Support, Security, and Engineering teams

- Lead the end-to-end execution of multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.

- Server and storage hardware refresh projects
- Data Center consolidation and migration
- Infrastructure upgrades and modernization

Our client is a leading life insurance and financial services provider headquartered in Hong Kong. It has grown to become the largest publicly listed life insurance group in the Asia-Pacific region. The company operates in 18 markets across Asia, offering a wide range of products including life, health, and accident insurance, as well as retirement planning and wealth management solutions.
Job Description
- Lead the end-to-end execution of multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on-premises infrastructure initiatives, including:
- Server and storage hardware refresh projects
- Data Center consolidation and migration
- Infrastructure upgrades and modernization
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on support throughout the project lifecycle-from planning and design to implementation and post-deployment support.
- Conduct system assessments, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Ensure compliance with security, risk, and governance standards.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure consulting or system engineering roles, with a focus on Open Systems (e.g., UNIX/Linux environments).
- Proven experience in managing and delivering complex infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT environments, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux systems, including system administration, scripting, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with enterprise storage solutions (e.g., SAN, NAS).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Knowledge of data center operations, including power, cooling, and rack management.
- Proficiency in infrastructure monitoring tools and performance analysis.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and change management processes.

Technology Recruiter/Contracting Recruitment at ConnectedGroupOur Client is a well-known global financial organisation and has a sizeable IT team in Hong Kong. They are currently looking for an experienced Technical Consultant with a strong experience in Open System technologies to provide expertise across a variety of projects. The role initially offers a 12-month contract with the possibility of renewal.
Key Contributions:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support on-premises related projects such as server configurations, system integrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Deliver exceptional support for Private Cloud services utilizing VMware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors, managing relationships to secure timely delivery of resources, services, and support for the initiatives.
- Provide strategic recommendations on integrating Open System environments with cloud technologies, enabling hybrid solutions where beneficial to project goals.
Core Expectations:
- Degree Tertiary or above qualification in Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in IT infrastructure support.
- Advanced proficiency with Open System platforms in on-premise settings
- Working experience in hybrid environments, integrating on-premise infrastructure with cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and technical proficiency in various IT systems and applications.
