Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals ("TWGHs") in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap Following the educational ideals of TWGHs and leveraging on its renowned strengths and expertise, TWC aims to provide high quality tertiary education to nurture competent, socially responsible and caring professionals for the benefits of society.
With the staunch support of TWGHs, TWC has been developing rapidly and built up a niche in healthcare education. It is the first self-financing tertiary institution offering five professionally accredited degrees to train nurses and allied health professionals such as medical laboratory technologists, occupational therapists and radiation therapists. Besides, the College is also the first institution registered under Cap. 320 offering early childhood education degree and higher diploma programmes to train qualified kindergarten teachers and childcare professionals.
Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) running a total of 19 degree, sub-degree and diploma programmes in several disciplines. It has a student population of over 4,000 in 2024/2025.

The School of Management seeks a Professor and Dean to report to the Vice President (Academic), tasked with leading innovative undergraduate programs, including the Bachelor of Health Information and Services Management (Honours) and the Bachelor of Management (Honours) in Social and Business Sustainability, while also driving the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes as well as short courses that respond to global trends and societal needs. The Dean will guide the School's strategic vision, fostering an academic environment that emphasizes social and ethical responsibilities in business leadership. With a holistic approach to education that blends theory with practical applications, the School prepares adaptable graduates for diverse workplace challenges. As the School continues to expand its offerings, the Dean will ensure that curriculum development aligns with industry demands and societal expectations, enhancing the School's relevance and impact on management education. Committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community, the successful candidate will lead initiatives that promote innovative educational practices and community engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the educational, research, scholarly, and public engagement activities of the School, ensuring alignment with the strategic vision and goals of the College.
- Effectively manage the School's resources to support its growth and enhance its academic offerings, including the development of new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and short courses that address global trends and societal needs.
- Collaborate with the President and Vice Presidents to advance the university's vision by developing and implementing an academic business plan and strategic initiatives that promote the growth and enhancement of the School of Management and the College.
- Enhance the research culture and output of the School by increasing visibility and fostering local and international collaborations through interdisciplinary and impactful research, as well as organising conferences.
- Oversee School's academic activities, including programme development and validation, quality assurance, examination and assessment processes, student recruitment, and initiatives for whole-person development.
- Engage in professional service to external organisations and provide public services to the community, promoting the College's mission while strengthening its local and international standing and networks.
Requirements:
- A PhD or Professional Doctorate in Management or a relevant discipline.
- Significant experience in the tertiary education sector, particularly in programme development, enhancement, student recruitment, and leadership.
- Proven track record in research leadership, with the ability to build and nurture collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to achieve high-quality outcomes, and attract and secure external research funding while managing complex research projects and budgets.
- Demonstrated publication record in high-impact journals within the relevant discipline, preferably with international recognition.
- Demonstrated success in establishing industry partnerships at local, regional, and international levels.
Fixed term contract will be offered to the appointee with possibility of renewal subject to good performance. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

(d) At least 4 years' post-degree full time relevant working experience.

Duties:
(a) To assist in the design of teacher training programmes, development of learning resources and serve as speaker in the training activities;

(c) To assist in the implementation of different training programmes; to collect feedback, provide support in programme evaluation and handle enquiries;
(d) To support and evaluate the progress of the study tours for teachers by joining in; and
(e) To perform any other duties as assigned.
Terms of Appointment:
Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
Fringe Benefits
(a) 14 days annual leave and full pay sickness allowance whereas rest days, statutory holidays(or substituted holidays), maternity leave/paternity leave, where appropriate, will be granted in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
(b) A gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. Such gratuity, if granted, plus any contribution made by the Government to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 10% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

Position Requirements
- At least 2 years of related working experience
- Good interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Able to work independently with little or no supervision
- Well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse people
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal English and Chinese, ability to speak Mandarin is a plus
Proficiency in computer skills
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required

- Working hours 7:00am to 4:30pm (or 7:30am to 4:30pm), Monday to Friday, plus occasional extended working hours to complete some projects and to support school-related events may be required

If in the course of carrying out the duties of the role, the job holder identifies any instance that a child is suffering or likely to suffer significant harm either at school or at home, s/he must report any concerns to the School's Designated Safeguarding Lead or to the Head of School or indeed to the Regional CEO or Safeguarding Manager - Asia so that a referral can be made accordingly to the statutory services.
