Agency Securities Finance Traders are responsible for the discretionary lending trading activities across fixed income and equities assets which are held within the J.P. Morgan Agency Securities Lending program.
As an Agency Securities Finance Trader in the Agency Securities Lending team, you will be based in Hong Kong and be a part of the wider APAC trading team with locations in Sydney and Tokyo. - Possess subject matter expertise of Global Markets products (including interbank markets, FX and commodities, credit trading, rates trading, equities and bonds, liquidity and funding management, and derivative products, custody, clearing and investment research), processes and controls across lines of business (asset classes) and support functions (market risk, liquidity risk, finance, operations, surveillance, regulatory compliance, etc)
- Exhibit knowledge of key regulatory requirements impacting Global Markets activities
- Influence positive change and discussion in relation to the governance and control framework, through a combination of point-in-time audit reviews, continuous monitoring and issue validation activities
- Support a program of continuous monitoring for a defined portfolio of businesses through regular bilateral meetings with senior stakeholders, participation in business governance forums, ongoing analysis of businesses' risk profiles, and delivery of continuous monitoring reports
- Maintain and enhance stakeholder relationships through regular bilateral meetings, appropriate challenge in business risk governance forums, and keeping in touch with business, regulatory and industry developments
Requirements
To be successful you will need
- Considerable experience in risk or control aspects gained within any of the 3 lines of defence functions (e.g. Product Control / Finance, Market Risk,
- Regulatory Compliance, Front Office, Markets Operations, Model Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, Markets Surveillance, Internal Audit etc)
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, economics, banking, business or similar degrees with focus on capital markets and investment management. Master's degree is a plus
- An expert in general global markets key risks, processes and controls front-to-back. Strong managerial skills and an effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with convincing presentation, persuasion and influencing skills, even when delivering difficult messages to senior stakeholders
- Dedicated to continually learning and improving your own skills, and assisting in people development, through peer-coaching, and contribution to training sessions.
- Excellent at managing multiple competing priorities and assist defining priorities aligned with the Function's goals
- An analytical thinker who is confident approaching areas outside of your expertise in a thorough and detailed manner, getting to the heart of the key features and aspects quickly
- A solid team player, with a demonstrable desire to help the team as a whole achieve its objectives
- Relevant certification(s) or industry accreditation (e.g., CIA, CFA, SISA) is a plus
- Experiences with data analytics is a plus

**Principal Responsibilities**
In this role you will
+ Work in the client service team for Direct Custody & Clearing covering clients in Hong Kong with their day-to-day custody enquiries, responsible for independently working with banks and broker dealer institutional clients
+ Act as focal point to gather input & update clients with latest market developments and lobby with regulators for the interest of the clients
+ The candidate will act as the escalation point to ensure we attain the highest levels of Client Service satisfaction, retention, and reference-ability of the client base
+ Function as the focal point of contact leading any upcoming client change, projects by collaborating with the relevant Operations and Product teams to address client needs and provide regular updates to senior management
+ Ensure adherence to the client governance and oversight for assigned client base, including client due diligence
+ Regular service reviews to measure KPIs & SLAs to identify operational efficiencies in the service model
+ Act as the Regional client service manager for Tier 1 banks and broker dealer institutional clients for APAC region. The candidate will be responsible to monitor the service model across locations and act as gatekeeper to ensure operating model alignment across the locations
Qualifications
To be successful you will need
+ Solid experience in client management roles with relevant experience in Direct Custody and Clearing or asset servicing related discipline
+ Candidate should have excellent communication skills and client facing experience
+ Strong operational background across settlements, asset servicing, and treasury / cash operations is preferred
+ Ability to understand market regulations and articulate the changes to internal stakeholders and clients
+ Experience in managing client change, regulatory and operating model changes in a systemic manner
+ Flexibility to adapt to the changing demands of the industry, clients, and internal stakeholders. Able to work in a quick pace environment and manage individual and team priorities effectively
+ Proven capacity to operate across a complex organization collaboratively, whilst ensuring that the agreed client/HSBC agenda is effectively managed.
