- Assists in preparation of solutions to general and engineering problems.
- Checks and coordinates details and dimensions under supervision.
- Performs structural analysis and design under supervision.
- Assists in preparation of design and construction documents.
- Provides independent general drafting work relating to specific areas of project.
- Reviews shop drawing and product submittals for general conformance with the structural engineering documents.
- Handles a reasonable workload to meet project tasks deadlines and commitments under regular direction from the supervisor.
- Generates ideas under direction relative to the task in hand for review and selection by others.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or B.Eng required; Master’s degree in Structural Engineering a plus.
- Limited experience in structural analysis, drafting, and design development.
- Demonstrates general knowledge of materials, detailing and construction techniques related to structural engineering principles, and codes.
- Exhibits initiative, problem solving, and a high attention to precision and accuracy at a task specific level.
- Able to follow instructions on timelines of deliverables, seeks guidance when needed, escalates appropriately if needed.
- Effectively communicates internally through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means.
- Possesses basic knowledge of computational and FEM tools for daily use on project design.

- Undertake technical project work involving design, drawings, specifications and reports

Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Structural, Civil Engineering or related disciplines.
- HKIE (STL) Member with 7+ years of experience in design. More experienced in structural design may be considered as Technical Director.
- Proven working experience in structural engineering design for projects.

RESIDENT SITE STAFF
We are looking for the following site staff for the Sub-structure Works Contract at New Science Building for Lingnan University
Resident Structural Engineer (RSE)
- Registered Professional Engineer (Civil or Structural). For holders of qualification in the field of Civil Engineering Discipline, appropriate experience in structural engineering design and practice is required.
- 5 years of post-qualification experience in the field of structural engineering.
- Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2* or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent.
- The tentative employment period for the Sub-structure Works Contract will be about 12 to 15 months with gratuity payable on satisfactory completion of the contract and the tentative commencement date of employment will be in Mid Sept 2025.
- Upon completion of the Sub-structure Works Contract, there will be another potential employment with period for about 12 months tentatively for Superstructure Works.
