Applicants should have a master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, educational psychology, psychological counseling or related disciplines from universities in Hong Kong or overseas; and should be registered or be eligible to register in the Hong Kong Psychological Society, or certified by the Hong Kong Professional Counseling Association or other internationally well-recognized professional bodies. They should be fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) and English. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as group work and crisis intervention skills are required. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated ability to work with students at tertiary educational level, and have enthusiasm in enhancing the educational goals for the Counseling and Wellness Center. ( Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.

More About The Program

The Burson HK Internship Program is a paid internship, where the duration of the internship can be customized from 3 months to 12 months, either part-time or full-time. During the internship, students will work closely with different levels of the client servicing team to gain experience in public relations. Each intern will be paired with a mentor who provides feedback, guidance and support to ensure students make the most out of the program.

What You'll Do

• Track PR initiative outcomes, and coverage and prepare performance reports for clients
• Identify and maintain media lists
• Assist in content development and translation including press releases, op-eds, pitching notes, media invitations, etc.
• Support PR events organisation and coordination
• Assist in developing actionable insights for clients by conducting desktop research on key market trends, audience insights, and competitive activities
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for new business proposals or new campaigns

Experience That Contributes To Success

• Completed 2nd year at university or above, major in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English or Translation related is preferred
• Can work at least two and a half days a week for at least three months; full-time is preferred
• Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese)
• Ability to work both independently and as a team

Job Description:

• Plan, design, implement and evaluate student developmental programmes including the liaison with external organisations for arrangement of collaborative projects
• Provide social and emotional counselling services for students and parents as individuals and groups
• Provide social competence training programs for students with ASD/ADHD at schools

Duties

The key responsibilities of the Senior Student Affairs Officer (Search Learning) are:

• Develop service-learning programs for SFU students;

• Serve as coordinator for community services activities for students;

• Organize student leadership programs for various student groups;

• Organize and co-ordinate student exchange programs to overseas;

• Compiling a student database to promote SAO programs to students;

• Liaise with SAR Government Department such as EDB and YDC for funding application;

• Assist in carrying out branding and promotional plans and publicity, including regular publications, website and social media;

• Organize NSL workshops and activities for students; and

• Perform any other duties as assigned by Director of SAO.

Appointment Criteria

• A recognized bachelor's degree in social work or related discipline;

• At least 5 years' experience in NGO or education environment;

• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to details;

• Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines;

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); and

• Good command of both written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Major Duties:

To provide guidance and individual counselling services to students;

To plan, design, organise and implement student developmental programmes;

To assist in matters related to student finance and other administrative work;

To support Structured Whole Person Development Programme, Discipline-wide projects, and strategic initiatives;

Requirements:

(a)

A recognised degree in social work or a relevant discipline, and registered under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance (Chapter 505);

(b)

At least 3 years' relevant experience in the provision of student services in education sector and/or youth work in social work setting;

(c)

Substantial experience in personal / career counselling to the youth, organising youth activities and developmental programmes;

(d)

Experience in working with youth-at-risk and students with special educational needs will be an advantage;

(e)

A high level of language proficiency in both English and Chinese; and

(f)

Good interpersonal, planning and problem solving skills, and ability to work under pressure and dynamic environment.

Student and Parent Support:

Communication and Relationship Building:

Administrative Tasks:

• Organize orientation sessions for new students and check-in calls with students and parents.
