The Expert in Technical Support - Data Center Cooling Systems is a critical role responsible for providing expert-level technical support, troubleshooting, and knowledge leadership within the Services Line of Business. This role focuses on ensuring optimal performance and reliability of data center cooling equipment and systems. The Expert will act as a Level 3 escalation point for complex technical issues, coming from field services, partners, and Level 2 support, and drive continuous improvement in service quality. Responsibilities:

Expert Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide expert-level technical support for data center cooling equipment and systems, including but not limited to chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, and associated control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues reported from customer sites, field services, partners, and L2 support.
  • Conduct remote and on-site troubleshooting as needed, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.

Knowledge Management & Content Development:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web development platforms, Android app development, robotics/computer vision systems, IoT devices, AI applications, 3D modeling and printing technologies;
  • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of various hardware and software solutions within these domains;
  • Support seminars and events (e.g., online demonstrations, technical workshops, taking photos);
  • Contribute to departmental innovation projects as needed – this may include assisting with research initiatives or developing new tools and workflows; and
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Head of the Department.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Robotics/Computer Vision focus preferred), or a related field;
  • Demonstrated experience working with web development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks), Android app development, robotics/computer vision systems, IoT platforms, AI tools and techniques, 3D modeling and printing software;
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across multiple computing domains;
  • Excellent technical support and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies and methodologies; and
  • Good command of English and Chinese.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Description

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, with at least one year of post-qualification work experience;

  • Work experience in software development, troubleshooting, and performance tuning;

  • Solid skill set with OAuth2/Okta, SQL/NoSQL, Java/C#/Python, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS;

  • Knowledge of frontend/backend Web application and API development, DevOps, Pytorch, Machine learning model architecture and training, Generative AI, LLM, Git, Chatbot, Clould platforms, RPA, and Power Bi;

  • Well-organised with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility;

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and

  • Ability to carry out duties independently and be a good team player are required.

  • On-the-job training will be provided.

  • Knowledge of administration of VMware vSAN cloud, Linux/Windows systems, Docker, Singularity, HTCondor, and SQL databases with a cybersecurity mindset is preferable.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
