About the role

Chung Shek Enterprises Co Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Officer (Property Management) to join our team in North Point, Eastern District. This is a full-time position that will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising the operation of our property portfolio.

What you'll be doing

1. Perform routine maintenance inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
2. Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner to ensure minimal disruption to operations
3. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to schedule and oversee maintenance projects
4. Maintain comprehensive records of all maintenance activities and asset management
5. Provide technical support and guidance to the property management team
6. Monitor and report on the performance of building systems to identify opportunities for improvement
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

1. Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related technical discipline
2. Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical or maintenance role, ideally within the property management sector
3. Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other mechanical systems
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

The Biosciences Central Research Facility (CWB) (BioCRF(CWB)) at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is a core facility to provide cutting edge technologies in biological research. We are currently seeking candidates with relevant experience in one of the following core areas:

• Flow cytometry core
• Microscopy core
• Tissue culture core

In addition to providing instrument training to the University users and improving the automation of the high-throughput data analysis, BioCRF(CWB) also provides contract research services to other educational institutes and the business sector. The successful candidate is expected to support current services, keep pace with technological innovation and provide technical assistance in the area(s) above.

Applicants should possess a bachelor's or higher degree in biological science, bioinformatics or relevant disciplines, coupled with extensive hands-on experience in the area(s) above. Candidates with less experience but demonstrated potential are welcome to apply and may be considered for appointment as Junior Technical Officer. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)

Responsibilities:

• Perform environmental testing on water, soil and other samples as assigned according to standard operating procedure
• Maintain laboratory records according to HOKLAS requirement
• Conduct equipment maintenance and calibration
• Data logging and processing of test results
• Maintain good housekeeping of the laboratory
• Train and supervise subordinates on performing routine testing
• Validate test method
• Undertake any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Higher Diploma or above in Chemical Technology or Chemistry, Environmental Protection and Management, Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent
• At least 3 years of working experience in laboratory testing industry
• Knowledge of HOKLAS is an advantage
• Experience in MV/MU calculation is an advantage
• Candidate with more relevant experience would be considered as Senior Technical Officer
• Willing to learn, be a good team player and self-initiative
• Good analytical, communication and organization skills
• Immediately available is highly preferred

• Manage and supervise technical services team at the Clubhouses
