Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Act as the recognized firewall technical expert (Check Point, Fortinet and others) and apply technical knowledge of network security solutions to meet business requirements and resolve identified technical constraints
- Accountable design authority for technology decisions and stay abreast of technology trends and advise Technology and the Business about potential benefits/impacts
- Provide a network security consultancy role to Technology and Business teams where appropriate. Define configuration standards and provide technical solutions to Operations teams to resolve technical issues
- Work and implementation on various complex projects, as a Technical Subject Matter Expert. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure technical deliverables are met
- Proficient hands-on experience networking background (Subnetting, Switching, Routing, VLANs, VRFs, NAT, VXLAN, EVPN…etc).
- Proficient in setting up and manage the modern configuration management, infrastructure as code tools, CI/CD tools (e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, Git, )
- Manage vendors across the project delivery and technical matters

To be successful you will need
- Degree qualifications in Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Must be Technical Subject Matter Expert in Firewall Infrastructure (Check Point and Fortinet) including multi-domain management, Logging servers, virtualization, Maestro, automation. Top Tier IT Certifications (e.g. Check Point CCSE, Cisco CCIE) is a plus
- Hands on experience as a data network and security specialist in a large enterprise network
- Technical knowledge in networking (Cisco and non-Cisco) with an emphasis on software-defined networks (SDN) and leveraging spine & leaf designs
- Proficient hands-on experience networking background (Subnetting, Switching, Routing, VLANs, VRFs, Firewalls, VPN etc.)

In this role you will
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of IBM Z mainframe systems and storage technology to ensure high availability and performance
- Develop and implement resilience strategies, including disaster recovery plans, high-availability configurations, and failover mechanisms to minimize downtime
- Lead a team of mainframe engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency

Requirements
To be successful you will need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience managing IBM mainframe z/OS systems, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of designing and implementing resilience strategies, such as disaster recovery and high-availability solutions
- Strong knowledge of z/OS system administration and problem diagnosis.
- Extensive expertise in DS8000 and tape storage technology, including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting. Experience with mainframe infrastructure software (e.g.,JES2, SMPE, RACF, CA1, SMS, GDPS, etc)
- Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., REXX, CLIST) and scripting for mainframe environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive risk management and system optimization
