What You Will Do
Trading Services - Junior Trader or Trade Support Staff:
- Manage Commission Data, Targets vs Actual #'s, Reports & Commission Sharing Agreement (CSA) data.
- Generate blended quarterly commission reports, semi-annual, & annual year end transaction & market data for management use.
- Monitor post-trade executions daily via Virtu's Daily Execution Monitoring Trade Cost Analysis (TCA) reports.
- Conduct End of Day (EOD) cross-checking of Trader's orders by markets for accuracy and correctness, missed orders or other discrepancies.
- Data Analytics & Trade Intelligence, develop and maintain automated reporting pipelines for trade execution metrics across asset class in Python/VBA, visualisation in PowerBI/ Databrick.
- Track paperwork process of IPO's & Placements; Ensure subsequent allocations are done in line with the internal fairness policies. Maintain IPO summary data & provide compliance IPO participation info
- Provide Re-charge transaction data & Transfer Pricing between AllianzGI AP, JP, Singapore, Malaysia & Taiwan for Finance & Compliance Dept.
- Assist in compiling daily market news for the morning meeting and preparing mid-market updates for the daily equity email.
- Must work with manager and respond in a timely manner to compliance enquiries.
- Use Bloomberg AIM (The Asset and Investment Manager) extensively and must know main functionality.
- Keep abreast of IPO's and other ECM deals, sharing this information with the investment team, and work with brokers on deals we're interested in.
- Resolve settlement problems, working as bridge between brokers & settlements on daily trades and on specific paperwork required for trading.
- Continually question current workflows, look for better ways of doing our job, and stay up to date on the most advanced trading technologies.
Cash Support Tasks
- Placing fixed cash deposits per Portfolio Managers (PM's) instructions.
- Update Unit Trust Transactions & handle some Fund of Fund (FOF).
FX And FFX Trading & Execution Tasks
- Able to execute FX and FX Forward (FFX) orders as per PM's instructions.
- Monitoring FX (TCA) reports and continually look for areas of improvement.
Other Asset Classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives), 2nd stage within first 24-36 months:
- Depending on candidate's aptitude and progression in above TSG tasks, we would expect this trade support staff or junior trader to fully learn about the other asset classes we trade on the desk and work with other traders on their executions.
- Negotiate with brokers in the event we receive a sub-standard execution not following our instructions, and at the same time keep the relationship professional.
- Learn how to network and scour the market discreetly to identify flow and matching opportunities.
What You Bring
- Attain full SFC license qualifications after immediately taking exams for Type 1, 2 and 9 licenses. Over time there may be several other licenses that are required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related fields. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge and proficiency will be built in Bloomberg Trading functions AIM, EMSX, TSOX, etc, and custodial systems extensively.
- Strong technical (Python, SQL, Excel VBA, as well as SAP Business Object reporting software, PowerBI, Databricks and database management is a plus.
- Experience in middle or back-office roles on buy or sell side helpful in understanding the full life cycle of trade executions.
- Experience handling projects, corporate actions, settlement, funds accounting experience an advantage.
