Duties:

Requirements:

• Preferably with relevant work experience in translation / interpretation or customer service / social service.
• A recognized Bachelor's degree or above, or at least 3 passes or above in Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) / at least Level 3 in 3 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or above, or equivalent.
• Fluent in at least one EM language, i.e. Urdu, Hindi, Nepalese, Bahasa Indonesia, Punjabi, Bengali and Tagalog.
• Good command of oral and written English.
• Demonstrate a positive and self-motivated attitude and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadline.
• Able to work in a multicultural team and in a work environment.
• Proficient in computer skills and MS Office.

Job Descriptions:

• Translation and editing of financial documents, including IPOs, circulars and financial reports;
• Transcription and translation of legal documents including investigation reports;
• QC and finalizing of financial documents including daily announcements; and
• Glossary compilation, maintenance of translation memory and other language-related tasks.
• Shift work and flexible to work overtime is required.

Requirements:

• University graduates with a bachelor's degree in Translation or related disciplines;
• Working experience in financial and legal translations but fresh graduates with good language skills will also be considered;
• Those who have more experience will be considered as Senior Translator;
• Strong sense of responsibility, detail-minded and self-motivated;
• Good command of written English & Chinese; and
• Team player yet can work independently.
• A Hongkonger who moved to the UK/Australia/Canada is also welcomed.

ABOUT THE JOB

Being a member of the Interpretation & Translation Service of H.O.P.E. Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities, the Interpreter / Translator will be responsible for the following duties:
