Overview
The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management UX team builds digital experiences that help our clients manage their finances and monitor their investments easily on the Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley platforms. The Private Wealth Management Asia & Australia team delivers products for internal clients (e.g. client relationship managers, investment management team, investment financial group, etc.) so they can provide the best services and products for ultra-high net worth clients across Asia and Australia. The PWM tools and applications cover end-to-end client experiences; from onboarding/off-boarding clients, account management and mapping, browsing products, getting insights, portfolio management, order placement, tracking, and approvals, among other things. We are seeking a great designer to join high-functioning team.

- Engage in hands-on across all stages of the design process; user research, ideation, concept development, validation, wireframing, prototyping, final visual design, and implementation support.
- Serve as a high-level craft and delivery expert on complex products and provide scalable and innovative design solutions that influence stakeholders across functions to gain support for design strategies.
- Partner closely with cross functional teams - Business, Technology, Sales, Operations, Risks, and others to ensure products are well-defined, high impact, and successfully executed.
- Drive the discovery phase of the product, such as leading a collaborative workshop that define the problem that needs to be solved, educates with research and data, and clarifies the success metrics.
- Determine best UX solutions based on UX research and business goals and help to determine overall direction, identifying challenges and adapting as needed based on the context of the solution and customer.
- Lead a team of designers; provide oversight to deliver exemplary solutions, guide and mentor them fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.
- Maximize utilization by managing workflow, intake, and design resourcing effectively, responding to business needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with the wider design community; other studios and horizontal COEs (UX Research and Design System), to reduce duplicate of work, create cohesive user experience, and provide more strategic UX.
- Support the larger UX team culture by fostering a collaborative and creative work environment. Intentionally craft moments that allow people to pause, connect and get inspired.
- Employ a user centered approach to influence the product vision
- Create simplicity out of complexity for experiences that have dense data & complex business requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to adjust and prioritize design scope effectively in response to changing needs and/or constraints
- Contribute with hands-on design support when needed to illustrate initial design directions or assist with deliverables
- Push boundaries by leveraging data driven insights to craft intuitive, engaging, and impactful digital experiences
- Partner regularly with other UX leads to exchange insights, set design standards, align on strategies to grow the firm’s UX maturity, and (when necessary) coordinate dependencies across teams.
- Collaborate across departments to inform project strategy, roadmaps and design team engagement with the ability to advise, coach and course correct when/if needed.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior product and technology stakeholders, ensuring UX is seen as a strategic partner in driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions, rather than a tactical resource
- Help define strategic roadmaps in partnership with the product management team
- Present innovative design work to senior management with a clear, compelling narrative to gain alignment and secure buy-in
- Advocate for good user experiences by using stories from successful initiatives, UX best practices and data illustrate how a human-centered approach contributes to product success.
- A portfolio that demonstrates partnering with multiple departments on successful product releases
- 8+ years of experience as a UX designer as a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
- At least 3 years of experience managing small to medium sized teams
- Mastery managing the team’s workload and deliverables
- Bachelor's degree in design, computer science or related field; master’s degree is a plus
- Fluency in design thinking methodologies
- Strong sense of design, and current with the latest design methodologies
- Current in the best practices for using design systems
- You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team that you can bounce ideas off of, get critical feedback from, and unite to mature design thinking in a large organization
- You practice active listening and contribute to group situations (brainstorms, audits, critiques, whiteboard sessions, etc.)

We are looking for a Manager Product Design to drive through great innovations, design quality and execution on our device and accessories programs.
In this position you will work in close collaboration with the Design stream lead, Physical ID team and product group ensuring strong brand design experiences across the full product design stream for both device and accessories in a hands-on approach balancing leading projects & explorations.
Your “day To Day”
- Establish solid consumer centric product design strategy, creative direction across key programs
- Work effectively with cross functions to maintain the integrity of the design intent, ensure high-quality industrial design, CMF & UI output and deliver on expected timeline and scope.
- Support product design conceptualisation, iterative methodology, & coordination based on LAU/LAS insights, design trends and NPS to identify product design opportunities that ultimately driving best-in class innovative design solutions to complex design, proposition and brand issues.
- Communicate design vision across program teams and with both internal and external teams.
- Create product design directions, strategies, prototypes, and visuals in partnership with internal and external Industrial Design teams.
- Develop and manage innovative design directions for product design, CMF and UI throughout the design exploration and development stages with internal and external teams.
- Provide industrial design, CMF & UI expertise to cross-functions and suppliers from device concept to production readiness.
- Ensure design concept desirability from a consumer perspective and feasibility from a technology, production and economical point of view in the design process with close collaboration with the Entrepreneurs, Brand and Development team on-site or at key suppliers for increased speed to market.
- Work closely with Insights team in validation of design directions through visual renderings/ 3D prints/ artwork/ material samples/ design mock-ups/ prototypes gaining relevant consumer insights via qualitative or quantitative testing.
- Align and manage existing and defining new (general) interface, interaction and usability principles of design solutions.
- Collaborate with Design stream lead and cross functional teams on the design creative strategy, sustainability and CMF strategies connecting lifestyle trends with material technologies and defined product concepts, researching on innovative sustainable materials and processes, inspire and articulate meaningful application.
- BA/BS and/or MA/MS in a relevant design field.
- Relevant industrial/product design experience (corporate / consultancy), with proven success cases in the market.
- Strong Design Advocacy, delivering standard methodology in design within the programs. Ensuring right level of design quality is executed.
- Holistic understanding of design expertise across design subject with a strong background in industrial design, colour material finishing and user interaction design.
- Experience working with accessories and soft goods would be a bonus.
- Excellent communicator (verbal, written, and visual) who has the ability to influence and build consensus both within a program teams and design team.
- Collaborative mind set - a strong team player with ability to actively promote information sharing, one team spirit, and leading by example and showing rather than telling.
- Excellent sense of form, use of colour and breadth of creative expression with an affinity for how things are made, an eye for detail, and a passion for quality from concept to execution with strong understanding of materials and processes beyond plastic and injection moulding.

We are looking for a Manager Product Design to drive through great innovations, design quality and execution on our device and accessories programs.
In this position you will work in close collaboration with the Design stream lead, Physical ID team and product group ensuring strong brand design experiences across the full product design stream for both device and accessories in a hands-on approach balancing leading projects & explorations.
Your “day To Day”
- Establish solid consumer centric product design strategy, creative direction across key programs
- Work effectively with cross functions to maintain the integrity of the design intent, ensure high-quality industrial design, CMF & UI output and deliver on expected timeline and scope.
- Support product design conceptualisation, iterative methodology, & coordination based on LAU/LAS insights, design trends and NPS to identify product design opportunities that ultimately driving best-in class innovative design solutions to complex design, proposition and brand issues.
- Communicate design vision across program teams and with both internal and external teams.
- Create product design directions, strategies, prototypes, and visuals in partnership with internal and external Industrial Design teams.
- Develop and manage innovative design directions for product design, CMF and UI throughout the design exploration and development stages with internal and external teams.
- Provide industrial design, CMF & UI expertise to cross-functions and suppliers from device concept to production readiness.
- Ensure design concept desirability from a consumer perspective and feasibility from a technology, production and economical point of view in the design process with close collaboration with the Entrepreneurs, Brand and Development team on-site or at key suppliers for increased speed to market.
- Work closely with Insights team in validation of design directions through visual renderings/ 3D prints/ artwork/ material samples/ design mock-ups/ prototypes gaining relevant consumer insights via qualitative or quantitative testing.
- Align and manage existing and defining new (general) interface, interaction and usability principles of design solutions.
- Collaborate with Design stream lead and cross functional teams on the design creative strategy, sustainability and CMF strategies connecting lifestyle trends with material technologies and defined product concepts, researching on innovative sustainable materials and processes, inspire and articulate meaningful application.
- BA/BS and/or MA/MS in a relevant design field.
- Relevant industrial/product design experience (corporate / consultancy), with proven success cases in the market.
- Strong Design Advocacy, delivering standard methodology in design within the programs. Ensuring right level of design quality is executed.
- Holistic understanding of design expertise across design subject with a strong background in industrial design, colour material finishing and user interaction design.
- Experience working with accessories and soft goods would be a bonus.
- Excellent communicator (verbal, written, and visual) who has the ability to influence and build consensus both within a program teams and design team.
- Collaborative mind set - a strong team player with ability to actively promote information sharing, one team spirit, and leading by example and showing rather than telling.
- Excellent sense of form, use of colour and breadth of creative expression with an affinity for how things are made, an eye for detail, and a passion for quality from concept to execution with strong understanding of materials and processes beyond plastic and injection moulding.

- Health service engagement: Measurable improvement in user engagement to our health services (e.g. page views, health vouchers usage, BTC redemption rate) within the first year.
- Team Growth: Support the professional development of team members, aiming for 80% of team members achieving individual growth goals within the first year.
- Design Quality: Zero design bugs post product and feature launch. Reduce design-to-development handoff iterations by 50% within the first year. Achieve 80% adherence to design system guidelines across all products and platforms.
- Deliver at least 3 experience-driven initiatives that directly contribute to business goals (e.g., health services engagement, operational efficiency, customer growth etc).
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Proven experience in leading product design teams with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
