- Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Manage a team of actuarial analysts/reserving specialists, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, and Finance to ensure alignment between pricing, reserving, and financial reporting.
- Present findings to the CFO, Appointed Actuary, and Board on reserve movements, risk exposure, and profitability.
- Drive process improvements in reserving workflows, data quality, and automation.
- Risk & Capital Management
- Support Hong Kong Risk Based Capital by providing reserve risk analysis.
- Assist in reinsurance optimization by evaluating recoverables and collateral requirements.
- Contribute to capital modeling and stress testing to assess financial resilience.
About You
You have deep technical expertise in insurance reserving, actuarial modeling, and financial reporting , along with strong leadership skills to guide the valuation team.
- Credentials: Fully qualified FIA, FSA, FIAA or equivalent actuarial designation.
- Experience:
- 12+ years in reserving/valuation within insurance (P&C, Life, or Health).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 17, HKRBC, or other regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in reserving software (e.g., Prophet, AXIS).
- Prior leadership experience managing an actuarial team.
- Skills & Education:
- Deep technical expertise in loss reserving methods (Chain Ladder, Bornhuetter-Ferguson, etc.).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex actuarial concepts for non-technical executives.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
